Thank you so nice to see different techniques. I wish we would start using more metric in the USA it's so much easier especially for pattern making.

Great video, thanks! One small FYI, as a biker."Biker" jackets don't tend to have a collar since it constantly catches in the wind and hits your neck or jaw, which is extremely uncomfortable. This is more of a Mods/Rocker style jacket :)

Heya! Great tutorial, I found it really useful while I was on my placement. However I couldn't figure out what does the 'MAIN' means in the customer field and 'I' in the internals field?
@SoCalledFashion2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks so much for your comment and really glad you found use from the video! So some company’s have different customers, they might have the main, diffusion the 18-25 or they might have different categories that this field can be used. In addition some companies have different types of internals, that are set standards this could be individually named internal 1, 2, 3 etc it makes the cads for the supplier easier if you have set standards

thank you so much for this amazing tutorial! as I'm not so familiar with the industry suppliers can I ask what to put in the BOM section for the hardware, zippers, buttons, etc?? like I design a garment with a specific button, but what can I do when I don't know where my client can find that buttons? how can I figure it out? thank you again!
@SoCalledFashion3 жыл бұрын
You can add an image of the button you like and ask the supplier to source for you and send you options to choose from, you basically put any details on the BOM such as colour indications, fabric, zip tape etc👍👍👍

@tiainlajamir69433 жыл бұрын
hi! thank you so much for the video. it made me understand really well what needs to be done. i have no fashion background and i am planning to start a small fashion brand so i had no idea about how tech packs need to be made. i have a question regarding the measurements, do i need to just measure any jacket / dress and note down the measurements? or do we just hand over a standard size chart ? if i have a medium sized jacket then do i just measure the elements i want in my design with reference to that jacket? thank you again !
@SoCalledFashion3 жыл бұрын
hey! firstly thank you for commenting and supporting my channel, glad you found the video helpful. regarding measurements you can do it 1 of 2 ways. either measure a garment similar to your design and add them to your tech pack and send it over, or what i normally do is send the garment you like with the tech pack, the supplier can match to this all you need is your measurements for the details such as zip placements. hope this help ✌✌✌✌

Which program are you using?
@Slyc00p3 жыл бұрын
How do you know what the measurements are? Are you eye balling it or are you measuring the item itself? How would you know whay the correct size are everything?
@SoCalledFashion3 жыл бұрын
For the measurements of pockets or other surfaces details I will measure another garment, to creat the measurements for the actual fit of the jacket again you would measure something similar that you like the fit of 👍

So for the POM page, would it be wise to maybe source a similar garment to get the measurements needed? Do I have to show grading on the POM page or will the manufacturer do the grading based of the main measurements I provide?
@SoCalledFashion3 жыл бұрын
hey so the BOM ( bill of materials) is more for your fabric and trims information. regarding measurements yes if you have a similar garment send this with your tech pack as it will help the supplier for sizing. regarding grading the suppliers should be able to do this for you. how grading works is you provide a medium size and they add or take away measurements to get the other sizes for you. but you should get a set of sample in each size to make sure your happy with the fits.
