That cabinet was stunning, can see why it took so long to make . I could spend hours just walking round this place Its huge and I'm sure we didn't see half the rooms it as. Did notice a picture of the Queen mother. Thankyou so much for showing us round.

I really want to know HOW these enormous residences that were constructed without capillary humidity etc prevention do not get fungus; stained walls et all? Thanks

@@j134679 I lived in old houses with big rooms and windows but with capillary humidity; that humidity is not controlled opening windows; rise from the ground and embed the bricks if there is no any barrier. ALSO; do you think that you can open all those windows with bad weather many months per year?.

@@TheReverb1 they did say it was restored in the late 19th century which could basically mean the 90s. They have central A/C too

@@j134679 I understand all that but may be you do not about the problem that I am talking because may be you live in USA and there most houses are steel or wood framed not like in most parts of the World that are made from bricks etc so most buildings like this one that is ancient have the capillary problem hence many had the sidings etc in the interior walls or very thick walls with different core materials trying to compensate or solve the problem...even worst with the moat associated

There seem to be quite a few:"The Largest Room in the Chateau" rooms in this place, and what's up with the bathroom in the closet at the 8:30 mark, I'm curious about that...

You can buy castles in France for under $1M, easily, and that includes a lot of land in most cases; it all depends on the condition of course, but even nice ones are almost impossible to unload because of the upkeep, it's non-stop; and living in an old castle isn't all that comfy believe me, it's drab and damp. They'll practically give them to you, but these things are money-pits in every which way.
