Thanks for sharing Jacques Garcia's efforts to preserve so much of France's history at Château du Champ de Bataille. If it were up to me, I would declare him and his work at his chateau a National Treasure.

Thank you, for making these episodes available in English,, I've seen the French ones, but reading the subtitles and trying to look at the decor was nearly impossible. I missed so much while reading, now I have seen the things I've missed before. The narrators have done a wonderful job, their voice seems to match the original speakers. 👏👏👏👏👏

What a magnificent Château! What an impressive collection of furniture and l'objet d'arte. I've had the good fortune to have seen glimpses of areas not seen in this video. The whole thing is mind-blowing. Thanks for sharing!

What I like about the gardens is the attempt to give a modern contemporary interpretation of the baroque art of topiary or geometric clipping of plants.

There's a video of a entire property tour minus his private area where he lives and it's insanely awesome. The garden house an pool area just mind blowing.

There is a longer one on KZbin but it is in French. After the interiors you are taken by the head gardener into the greenhouses and it's like an Amazonian jungle! This home was also featured in an issue of AD and includes an amazing subterranean grotto not seen here. And of course, there is The Book! Start searching ... it's worth it! From here he has somehow moved on to an amazing new residence in Sicily, an abandoned monastery which he is resurrecting .... Villa Elana: A Sicilian Dream.

I remember seeing some american realestate agent give a pretty thorough, if not quite clueless tour on youtube of a large part of the property, but they gazed over the beauty and focused on the extravagance

For such ostentatious, it's surprisingly intimate inside. That's the only way I could live in such a place - with intimately scaled rooms.

So, he, LITERALLY, owns this house and all the stuff inside? He can rearrange the furniture or sell any of it he wants? Like he can make coffee in the morning and have a bowl of cereal anywhere he wants? Who is this guy? He must be a billionaire!

Ahhhhh...La Comtesse du Barry c'etait elle qui a dit a SM Louis XV, "Eh, la France, ton cafe fout le camp !". Encore un example du patrimoine francais. Le Chateau Champs de Bataille: Le Chateau des Reves.

So cool to hear the stories and descriptions of the items in his collection straight from Jacques own mouth. You rarely get such a tour!. Otherwise it would be in a museum, or worse, in private hands never to be seen and appreciated. Nice to see he likes to share it with the world. But, the last aerial shots remind me of Emperor Hadrian's palace outside of Rome. Must be nice, but, as we all know, none of us can take it with us. But, if you believe in Jesus, what wonders await you!.

They in fact preserved artifacts from some of the finest craftsmen and artists of the time. And reduced any negative environmental impact by lasting for so long. One palace built to last centuries. Well maintained garden . Good for insects and birds. And all preserved for us and generations to come to enjoy. I say that is a positive contribution to the human species. It both showcases the art and artistic stylings of artist t the time. And those artist and craftsmen were well paid. And word of mouth was how people got work back then. So doing work for the elite was good for business. Wealth does not equate evil or bad. If wealth is handled wisely it can benefit greatly. Every person he named who made something and contributed to the family’s story has preserved them, their art, and their spirit throughout history. Perspective, it really is important.
