@@patdisaster8543 to be honest, ive seen them (SD) play about 6 times or so. but the first time was the one i mentioned. i was about 15 yrs old then.ahhh the days of the all ages show! it was at Jupiter Tequesta juvenile center JTJC. which is actually 2 hours from where i live. My Dad wasnt a great "father" but he was one hell of a "DAD"! How many dads would drive 2 hours with a truckload of freaks to some pool hall and wait probably 4 or 5 hours in the parking lot.... ......

That would be Derek O'Brien on the drums during this era of the band (during which the Another State Of Mind tour took place). He left the band with Brent Liles (bassist in this video/era) on New Year's Eve 1984 after Mike Ness accepted heroin from the promoter as payment for that show instead of money, leaving the rest of the band unpaid. O'Brien and Liles later played together in Agent Orange, and O'Brien also played with D.I. and The Adolescents.

+Jake Brown I'm on the Adolescents' side to this day merely because they're so much more cool than Mike. Better songs and Tony Cadena was always more hardcore. Plus, to this day, every show they'll play they'll hang out with everyone before and after. But I do enjoy a small bit of Social D, I must admit.

This was filmed at the warehouse off the 91 and Orangethorpe. They were still a backyard band then. None of you know Mike and Dennis went to Troy High School. All of the bands had one side of the warehouse facing the street. I remember the Ken and Barbie's had the one next to this. On the weekends we would BYOB and watch the bands practice. On the other side of this room was another band , but I don't recall who they were. This warehouse was bordered on two sides by a Mexican Barrio. The gangbangers would line the sidewalks, but they never stepped in. We were there in the hundreds to there 30 or so guys. Anyway ya'll missed some good times!

I grew up on Woods Ave a block from Euclid, a couple hundred yards from Independence Park and the DMV. I lived a couple blocks from the Agnews and went to school with Frank and Alfie. Alfie used to pick me up and drive us to FUHS. This wasn't filmed anywhere near where you said it was, it was video taped at Pulsar Sound Labs rehearsal studios in Placentia. Right near the border with Fullerton but closer to the 57 than the 91. And this was in 1983 a year after SD had toured the US and Canada. They definitely weren't "still a backyard band then." You probably thought you sounded pretty cool in your post, but you sound a lot less cool to those of us who are aware you don't know wtf you're talking about.
@davids.28083 ай бұрын
I beg to differ. I knew Mike from grade school through high school and beyond. My sister dated Rick back in the day and still talks to him and to this day she is BFF with Mikes little sister, she lived at my moms with my sister and yes it was filmed at the warehouse in 1979 or 1980. I used to party thier on the weekends. All the bands at that time rented space on one side of the complex next to each other
