Awesome, best Johnny Cash cover ever. And by a punk band! I think their country working class influence makes them really original.

I love Social Distortion, but Mike Ness' solo stuff is good too! He did some covers of old goth folk songs that are pretty bangin' (Long Black Veil, especially) 🤩

Older and balder, a bit slower... Still so ultimately badass. Once that fire is lit - ya can't extinguish it... Let it burn...

Mike looks comfortable in his skin. Natural, looks content. Ive followed Social D since the very early 80's. a lot of angst and ass kicking back in the days. SoCal for life

Mike definitely resorted to hair transplantation. just pull recent vid. looks good but not very punk. I am a bit disappointed his decision. oh well.

+rjplamf61 Why even care? His job is to live his life however he wants not to follow some silly punk rock "code." If he wasn't thrilled about his receding hairline and decided to do something about it then more power to him...
@rjplamf619 жыл бұрын
+possumverde apparently Mike took that silly punk code pretty seriously or he would not be where he is now, but I am not surprised that he is resorting to cosmetic procedures because in the long run we are all hypocrites deep down inside. It's just that punk went against materialism and vanity and getting hair transplants is definitely a sign of vanity and going against what punk is or was all about. I do not think a code is silly if you buy into the philosophy behind it and than you sell out.
@possumverde9 жыл бұрын
rjplamf61 ...or...He simply lived life the way he wanted to and it just so happened to fit in well with the punk scene for a while...To consciously follow some sort of unwritten punk "code" would defeat the purpose as one would simply be trading one herd for another...either way individuality is sacrificed...
@TheRealDarkChoco9 жыл бұрын
+rjplamf61 punk is about being yourself and doing what you want regardless of what others say. If Mike wanted a hair transplant who are we to judge. There is no "punk code"

+Mathew Lascano that is such non sense. Tell that to all the people that were part of the movement in England back in the mid to late '70's and the So Cal scene back in the early '80's. Punk was about rebelling against pretty much everything. Mike Ness would agree. Shit, just listen to the Pistols album and the Circle Jerks, Black Flag etc. those bands hated every fn thing that society represented. please. The Hippies were into the mindset of be yourself and do what you want to do bullshit. I lived through those early punk years as a young man and I'm telling you punk attitude was intense shit taken very seriously. Yes there were some rich kid phonies in the crowd but hey were probably rebelling against their parents. Regarding Mikes transplants, I would have no problem kidding with him that any form of cosmetic surgery is not very punk and he would get it.

They made pre-war Gibson acoustics sound like shit. Impressive.
