Thanks, SWAC BUZZ; it's up to JSU Fanbase and Alumni to keep fighting; if you see a negative post, say something. Deion had received flack from everywhere. I am happy for Coach Prime, his coaching staff, and the recruits, the city of Boulder, and especially happy that he reached back and pulled Coach Dancy. Do we hate to see them go? Of course, we do, but we got to move the F ON❗F what the naysayers, haters, and those “shades of the elite black folks are spewing.🤬 Our fight is Much Bigger❗

My brother you are just making the point!!! Jackson Mississippi couldn't not keep Coach Prime as their coach!!!! There were a lot of problems with the Universal!!! Bigger than Prime!!! A high poverty rate, high crime rate and drinking water issues and they didn't have the revenue coming in to support A super star coach. A prime example is Travel Hunter he's a five-star recruit great but that young man also got to take care of his family!!! His family is counting on him to bringing that 💰 home. HE ONLY WENT TO JACKSON STATE BECAUSE OF COACH PRIME!!!! He didn't really have any love for black HBCU schools!!! And at one of them Power 5-five schools he could have got paid under the table and made some big time connections that could have helped himself even if he didn't make it in the NFL, Which in the end would help his family!!! But he put that all on hold because respect and he admired Coach Prime!!! S*** he plays the same position that coach Prime played in the NFL!!! Travel hunters will be drafted by the Dallas Cowboys trust me on that!!! Stephen Jones wouldn't be asking Coach Prime for videos on Travis if he wasn't interested in the young man!!! Jackson State made a mistake they sure have did everything in their power to keep Coach Prime!!! I would have done a 50-50 split in revenue with Coach Prime 💵💯👍!!! But the President of the University couldn't accept that!!!!

Travis Hunter made money at JSU and JSU is not broke lol Coach Prime was the highest paid coach in FCS football. Travis had NIL deals and a lucrative youtube channel. The real bad guys are our own people who do not seek truth and distrust the common man while worshipping money and fame. Dr. King said it best: "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." This goes for Deion as well. Deion could quash this rumor controversy by making a simple statement. And if we stood up and supported each other and cared about the way we treated each other, then people like the governor of Mississippi would not be in office because we would collectively get out the vote for our own best interest, and not be consumed by our own individual successes and needs. But as Deion said, "there is no I in team, but there is one in the middle of Deion." He also said, he is going to vote on himself 100% of the time. So, he has shown and told us who he is, that he is out for self, why don't we want to believe him? We need to be about our collective selves and stop being our own worst enemies.

Many of Deion's defenders have certain things in common. They have low expectations of HBCUs, don't and HBCU sports, don't expect them to ever be on the same level as a Power 5, and treat JSU as a charity case as if they should appreciate a few upgrades, a few wins, and national attention talking about build on that knowing good and well HBCUs don't have he resources to do that at all.

Coach Prime is demonstrating the highest degree of narcissism. It's all about what he did for JSU and HBCUs and not the other way around. JSU gave him a job when no other institution was willing to do so. JSU showed him love, embraced him, and gave him everything he needed to be successful. As a person who's has no attachment to JSU, his behavior and the false narrative that is following him is absolutely reprehensible. JSU helped him probably more than he helped JSU. Coach Sanders should be excoriated for his actions.

Where did he address any of this? From the past videos he has thanked JSU and complimented the folks of Jackson for being resilient. He personally hasn’t addressed anything after announcing his resignation. So why is it that folks have the need to dictate or chime in on who owes what when both parties benefited from each other. But to each it’s own. I was just thinking that folks mentioned - he did this and that but we don’t like the way he exited. It blows my mind that you have folks channeling on this but not channeling in how he was treated at their last game. Folks complaining how he left but never once called and donated or assisted but have the nerve to take to the large scale media and state their claims. Who is it helping? He didn’t speak to the media - he didn’t have too especially when he hadn’t spoken to the students. No one is mentioning that he did attempt but Coach Dooley was speaking - and they all know this. No matter where the blame relies who is this helping? What alot if folks don’t understand is that although JSU is rich in history has an amazing fan base - it has only resonated with us. And I might add a small or handful of us. We need to be accountable and stop blaming others. Some HBCUs have mismanaged funds since forever. We are the reasoning for failing our institutions. I believe both parties should have at least offered some sort of thank you but who played a big part and this probably would have helped alleviated some of the unnecessary tension and from folks for assuming and pulling things from the sky and absorbing everything and believing it. Now folks are stating that they can’t believe folks are choosing Coach Prime over HBCUs .. nope they are sitting back watching the buffoonery cause in all honesty they don’t care! We should be taking this energy and channeling to someone who actually did a disservice to the community for example Brett Farve - someone who has stole millions and hasn’t been charged - I mean how does this continue to not be challenged. I’m so utterly confused. One thing about Coach Prime he will use this hater-ration for motivation cuz remember although JSU gave him a chance there were folks hating saying he couldn’t do and why in the would did he even choose an HBCU - folks always tend to forget this was about the same energy there was when he arrived in Jackson- but he had to change the mindset of the players and the community cuz folks rather see the band - that this was possible. It’s happened before but baby itz been a long long time. So they both benefited from each other. Let’s move on if these bloggers or podcasters are focusing on the path ahead what good is it for especially when Coach prime has a phenomenal relationship with his players - Thaz who this is supposed to be about anyway not all these naysayers.

@@Iamshaylo with all due respect if you wasn't there during the quarantine listening to all the lies this Negro sold you wouldn't understand. This brother came in as Bomani Jones said selling a long-term vision when he knew he was only day today. If you never listen to him on the pivot podcast or all the podcast he was on in the last 2.5 years you would not be upset. However if you did listen to him and you did buy his snake oil you would be thoroughly upset. It's all perspective. As my older brother said, he never believed one thing that Coach Prime said because he grew up listening to Coach Prime and watching his movements. He told me Prime has always been about himself and his self-exaltation and thus he never believed the rhetoric about changing the game, leveling the playing field, and building Jackson State into a power that sent multiple players to the NFL. I'm not upset because I know who he is ie the typical black Pastor/ politicianm. He will do good at Colorado because he has the mouthpiece and a silver tongued game to bring high level athletes to that program. I wish him well. I'm a fan of him as an athlete, a coach, but never as a man.
@Iamshaylo
@Iamshaylo Жыл бұрын
@@meacmike1443 I can respect your opinion… and no I was not there. However, I do believe he did change the game - the things he accomplished for that program within 3 years aren’t in question. Although we take pride in HBCUS not many of us are aware of them and that’s OUR fault and we definitely need to reinvest but we all know that’s not happening and that’s one of the biggest problems. Prime started the task and he simply did not finish - it doesn’t have to stop with him - that’s all I’m saying. We don’t necessarily need celebrity coaches we need quality winning coaches- successful coaches to attract and develop talent. Jmo. Will it come with all the hype lights probably not - but if it’s all about the kids talents then that’s all that’s needed regarding the football program. I believe folks forgot the overall goal was about the student athletes and somehow added themselves into the equation- but again I was not there. Let me ask you a question Sir - Do you believe this movement could have been achieved if Prime continued to stay at Jackson or do you believe otherwise? Let’s say he lied - he won’t be the first to ever done it. So my stance is just to encourage folks to move on and stop trying to hold one man accountable for an entire system that’s has been struggling for quite some time. We all need to do our part and do better especially if you are a member of the HBCU community. My thing has always been those without judgement cast the first stone. The constant degrading isn’t helping the student athletes or the university. So my question still remains what is the end goal for all of this buffoonery? Who is it helping? How do we move on? If they were unaware before who really cares now? But somehow I believe, this too shall past. I really would have loved to see all of that energy channeled to Brett Farve but they somehow conveniently forgot about those millions. Swept under the rug - let’s continue to bring down our own.

Watching the tour of the CU facility reminded me of the opening words of the classic Charles Dickens novel, _A Tale of Two Cities._ "It was the best of times; it was the worse of times." There are quite a few parallels. I am first reminded of the jubilation experienced by the JSU family when Coach Prime arrived in Jackson and gave his inaugural speech. There was a cheering section then, and there is a cheering section at CU. While the cheers at CU are just beginning, those that once rang out on the campus of JSU have now gone silent. It was the best of times; it was the worst times. When the people of Boulder look at their recent football history, this hire makes them smile with joy. When the people of Jackson look at their recent football history this hire makes them frown with grief. It was the best of times; it was the worst of times. For me personally, I was reflecting on the upgrades to the JSU locker room, practice field, uniforms, etc, which were indeed a blessing. But then I remembered what CU had to offer in those same areas, and I had a sobering but frightening revelation. It really put everything into perspective. It showed just how far behind the curve that HBCUs really are. And it makes you wonder if there is really hope that the proverbial playing field will ever be leveled. It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.

The attitude of Deion's fanbase is a reflection of Deion's recent actions. Since his announcement he's done nothing publicly or demonstrative to show gratitude for what the city of Jackson has done to support him, his family and the program. It also doesn't help when at Deion's first press conference he applauds Boulder for being "virtually crime free" which I feel was a shot at Jackson. As you said the people of Jackson have been through enough, they don't need anymore slights especially from someone they took in as their own.

And to add insult to injury, he made it seem like he was "elevating" to a better school and he (and Sheduer) was very disrespectful and rude during the SWAC Championship celebration. So many are so morally bankrupt that they'll excuse any deception and lack of morals for $$$. Some things are more important than money, Deion was a symbol of hope and change for many living in a city struggling to exist and find pride in their city. I beg to differ I was there from 88 to 92 and I can say the campus now compared to then is wayyyyuy better. Ray would be a good fit for asst coach. Or Def cord. The top level recruit would take a coach that has been at the top or has had a history of coaching top talent. I could see the old coach of Stanford I think he just stepped down and bring Richard Sherman in as dB coach. Or Ed Reed as head coach. Hell I'd go big big and talk to Wilbur Singletary, Leslie Frazier, coach Edward's or coach Lewis. Richie Caldwell or Byron (can't spell his last name). Hell I would even look at the top black ass at the p5 schools and see if they want to get started here because they will never get a chance at the p5 level. We need at least a 5 yr commitment from any coach with that pedigree because now the young men won't belive another coach thanks to how coach left. Let me ask you this bro what do you think about coach pulling a stunt and making a bid to coach at "The U"? That would be another 80s style resurrection with his prime time persona. Plus it would've been funny if his children were to say " pop we're good we are going to ride it out here the atmosphere fits us rather than cu. Go ahead after your dream we will be OK here". The city of Jackson is giving themselves a bad name. Social Media does not stop anything God is doing in a person's life. Coach Prime did not say that. That is what they assumed but they saw all the news conferences where he said he would be open to entertaining other offers to a PWI. We can see you are biased to mess and disrespect. We saw the disrespect with our own eyes. People love to uplift lies and wrong doing. We know it is not everyone from Jackson Mississippi but it is a lot of people. Coach Prime doesn't need to apologize to anyone. He has always shown respect and love to Jackson Mississippi. If anything Jackson Mississippi needs to be saying thank you to Coach Prime. He left that place a whole lot better.

I Live in Miami Florida and never thought about a Jackson Ms Until Coach Prime that man did alot for Jackson and JSU & put Jackson on the Map we flew from Miami to a JSU Game and its like they spit on him instead of saying Thank You for the Blue Print and don't about the Money that was stole from Coach Prime by JSU for Tickets Sale Shame on you Jackson & JSU

It wasn't stolen by JSU though. That's more lies. Third-party sites had a lot to do with that. That is why they moved to Impact Tickets so everything can be tracked.

To me the whole crime thing is a nonsense. Yes it's not cool that it happend to him and his son. Bit this is something that coach knew about before he came here. And let's be real his time at fsu those boys weren't saints there so he had to share some.of rhe stunts they pulled while playing with his sons. A criminal is just what they are a criminal and doesn't care who you are if they see an opportunity they will pull it . Hell I us regular people can have our cars broken into why doesn't he think his children can't. I could see if someone was robbing them at the club or something but a car break in come on I've had my system stolen out of my car before thats life unfortunately. The murder on or near the campus hate to say it but again unfortunately that's the world we live in today. I wonder if he was at UVA where 3 players were murdered on campus would he take his children and run. Coach likes to say that he " wants that dog element to be part of his players" well not all of that type of player is not always controlled and his sons need to see that. Don't for one minute think that Bobby Bowden didn't put up with nonsense while at fsu or the great nick saben doesn't put up with nonsense either we just don't see it. The best thing he can teach his children is that life is real and sometimes some real f up things can and will happen. And no one is exempt from it happening. Prime example hell if Michael Jordan's father can be murdered in his home state ( and Mike looks just like his father) no one is exempt from evil thing happening to them of someone close to them.

You're absolutely correct. Jackson, MS as a collective treated Deion and his family well. They embraced him and invited him in their homes for dinner even. It's all documented on social media. Sure, his things were stolen and property was broken into but those were individuals. That city loved Deion Sanders. It's difficult to discuss how a coach departing can effect a team and fan base. Any criticism of Deion means you're a hater and that people are "ungrateful". I've not seen the gratitude from Deion for having the opportunity to lead that JSU program. He should've held a press conference at JSU the same way he did at Colorado. I wish most would admit that they aren't college football fans, hbcu fans or black college football fans. They are Deion Sanders fans. Which is fine. No judgment. But there is a difference. The Deion fans are ignoring college football fan culture. Deion has the power to end the arguing. He doesn't care and he doesn't have to care. No one is asking him to. But if anything he said was genuine as the coach of JSU, he would speak out against the division that his departure is causing. It's all due to love for him, of course. People are both hurt and confused. 2 and a half seasons is not very long coaching a college team.
