So many livestream platforms define the need of community managers along with the social media managers nowadays. It's a good opportunity for anyone who's interested to work in this field. 👍

Social media managers and community managers are both responsible for enhancing brand awareness online, with the social media manager more focused on achieving short-term results such as churning out blog posts and engaging on Instagram Live. A community manager, unlike a social media manager, deals with an audience on a more personal or individual level. They create strategies in-house but also identify and engage with other people from outside the company - newcomers or old customers - to market the business information within their ecosystem. A community manager also spends significant time building relationships and promoting a harmonious atmosphere for their company’s brand. Thanks for sharing your video, Latasha James

I’m self employed of 28 years. I’m a permanent makeup artist and I’ve been forced into social media since the world changed to that lol I found you and have been listening to your KZbin nonstop! I love your channel! I’ve learned so much and there’s still so much to learn. I’m not a social media manager but some of this applies to how I run my socials. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Love the way you differentiate community managers versus social media managers. We have several community managers at DigitalMarketer and we LOVE them. Totally different role from the social media role.

Great video! Many interests and hobbies sound like me haha! Completely normal to change what you're doing, and healthy too in my opinion. It's always nice to try something new that might be outside your comfort zone ☺️ And omg me in middle school was a very shy and insecure girl - luckily I've grown my confidence a lot since then but it's been a journey! Definitely someone who enjoyed alone time being creative and that's something I still enjoy. I think you're so right when you say that young you gravitate towards something that feels good and makes you happy. 😊

Please do more videos about community managers. I just started in this role and I am having a hard time adjusting as this is my first communications role. I would love to know about resources and how to speak like a communications professional in presentations as well as with writing copy or creating social media guides.

Did not imagine you as a drummer! So cool! I went to a small dance focused middle school in the Bronx. I was top of my dance class and dance was my life, a “bun” head lol. I was silly and the class clown, I had a close group of friends and we had so much fun! And I remember being obsessed with the show degrassi 😂. I really loved middle school, these are my favorite academic years.

Thanks so much for the mention LaTasha :) Also, thanks for sharing so much about yourself with us. I'm sure your nieces and nephews are lucky to have someone like you in their lives. In middle school I was a socialite. I was the co-captain of my cheerleading team and CHEER was my life up until high school, then I got pregnant with my son. I always wanted to be a professional choreographer. I still love to dance but didn't want to turn it into an actual career. School was so much fun for me, but I’m happy it’s over. LOL I can’t wait to hear more about your further video endeavors. Have a nice weekend LaTasha. These were very great questions btw :)

I started writing in my middle school years as well. ❤️ Middle school was rough for me actually. Some of the hardest years of my life. But I was a blend between, Story of the year - until the day I die and D4Ls shake that laffy taffy. 😂😂😂 I was creative. I wrote a lot. Played the piano for hours on end, it was my escape. I got pretty damn good actually just because there were times we didn’t have electricity, let alone cable or anything to do. But I had my piano that somehow made the trip from Kansas (where I’m from) all the way to Georgia. I also loved to dance, and I loved to edit MySpace and Xanga pages. I taught myself how to use html codes and create my own layouts. My dad sent me an iMac computer as a gift one year and I created so many things. Xanga pages, MySpace pages, garage band, iMovie. Lol. Man. I haven’t ever written this out, but it’s kind of therapeutic and would make a great journal prompt, huh!? Thanks for answering my question. ❤️

I felt like I didn't belong for 2 of the 3 years in middle school. I played sports and didn't have a solid group of girl friends. Plus, they weren't always the nicest. My best friend was a boy I played a ton of basketball with. In 8th grade, it felt like there was a shift and athletes were getting a lot of attention. Suddenly people were treating me differently.... Middle school was bizarre. I'm glad to hear you liked it though. And I think the advice about reflecting on your younger self is an awesome way to identify the things you're passionate about and may want to pursue.

I have recent been wondering the best way to describe the difference in those positions. I may begin helping a small non-profit who is looking for a "social media manager" but after talking to them it sounds like they really need a hybrid of many things, basically someone to manage all of their online presence (website content, email marketing, content creating and scheduling as well as community management). I've been searching for possible titles that may describe such a broad role.

I must be a discord community manager I work for free but I’m starting to think I might make 3 servers pay me for my services 😂😂😂😂 But no. I’m not really a community manager but imagine being a community manager for a discord server that isn’t a company but for one streamer, and three other servers.

I’m going to try and keep this short… Young me (Demi) started KZbin in 2007 I loved it, I’d get my friends involved alllll the time. I created presentations with music and video too. Where is that channel now? I have no clue. I did it for fun - I wasn’t aware this could have become my dream job or life! There’s other parts in between like starting KZbin at 19 again with the confidence of my ex to share our weekly life’s when he was away at university but with obvious reasons that stopped. Moving forward to 22 and realised I need to begin KZbin properly again for me it’s all I kept gravitating towards. I never stopped creating videos from this day. So I began. Something happened 6 months in (a comment) and I privatised everything and stopped. Moving forward again, I turn 26 next month… my life has completely changed job wise, my partner, home location and I STILL think about KZbin and don’t stop bringing it up unconsciously to him. Wishing I started and see creators everywhere starting theirs knowing I could do it too and better (blush face). However, I put it then to the back of my mind and think all imposter syndrome thoughts (if that’s a thing). Latasha, you gave advise and said go with what young you gravitated towards… I’m not even sure what keeps holding me back or maybe it’s bunch of things like comparison, knowledge, time, being liked, will anyone watch, will it be a waste of efforts again, I’m a nobody, what do I have to offer other than the passion for creating and connecting. Here’s my story and I’m still on the journey…
