Facebook isn't just common for people to use their full legal name, it's literally REQUIRED. You need to have your legal name and an image of your face in order to use the website. I know this because I had to make a facebook account in order to play a certain game, so I just used a fake name and no profile picture. Later I logged onto the account to look up someone's profile and I was greeted by a message telling me that my account was temporarily locked down for "suspicious behavior" (even though I hadn't ever interacted with it outside of making the account) so I did the steps to unlock it, but it KEPT HAPPENING (I actually thought the account had been hacked but quickly ruled that out) until it asked me for a picture of my face to "verify" me, which I happily provided an AI-generated image, to which they never locked the account ever again

I started taking a hiatus from twitter a few months ago and gravitated towards Tumblr & SpaceHey. While somewhat taking a break from social media as a whole... especially on my PC.. On my pc i have my own site to customize (THAT I CODED) and ever since then my life on the Internet has been sooooo much better I haven't been using social media as much since i get bored and just look at other people's personal sites, other weird sites, watch KZbin videos etc. It's great to not have soooo much awful shit thrown at me everyday.
