Social Security and Medicare cannot meet full benefits by 2035

I started my SS at 62 1/2, my wife who is 20 months younger than me started at 62. With my pension for working 25+ years we’re doing just fine.That was over 3 years ago & we never looked back. Haven't touched our investments other than to travel. I had two brothers die of cancer 3 years apart. One died at 62 & never drew a dime of his SS. The other died at at 65 & drew 10 months. Let's be honest here, the reason the Government is offering you a bigger payday at 70 is because they're banking on you not making it!

65? Try 67….if you’re born 1960 or later, you have to work till your 67 to get full retirement benefits. I’m 63 and just applied for my social security benefits….I won’t get as much money as if I waited till 67, but I’m tired, broke, Covid made me lose my job, I’m still working but making half the money I used to. I’m done. Can’t wait to see some of the money I paid in land in my bank account; I need it

Congress needs to remove the cap limit on Social Security. SS taxes are currently capped at $168,600 in wages ($168,600 * 6.2% = $10,453). Whether you're a millionaire or billionaire, you pay the same in SS tax as the wage earner making $170,000/year.
