Truly one of the greatest American rock and roll bands in history. Social Distortion's music is just simply honest, and that's what I've always loved about them. No BS, just honest rock and roll. Mike Ness has kept the faith for over 40 years. They helped shape the southern California punk rock scene. They have made album after album of simply great music. Given all they have accomplished and all they have given to the world, they deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
@JohnBond-m4t6 ай бұрын
Yes, they should be inducted. But it a long, slow process. Lots and lots of red tape. Look how long it took for Linda Ronstadt. And her induction into the rock and roll HOF was _LONG_ overdue. I am not even sold so much on hardcore punk rock, but I. LOVE SD.

She did wait for me and I was blessed to hold her hand until she passed. I don't want this to be about ME I want this to be about EVERY ONE OF YOU. This song was with me through one of my friends who died of cancer. No matter how many tears I shed, I'll never miss you less Kerry. This song, and all of SocialD's songs are true ballads of human nature; life, and loss. No matter your struggle or pain, know that the love we find in life is worth weathering the worst storms that life throws at us. Live well and hold close those you hold dear. Love and Death don't mean a thing 'til the angels sing.

More info later said it was a cerebral aneurysm, then a heart condition. Seventeen years later my mom passed away from a cerebral aneurysm. The round-about connection hasn’t really allowed me to listen to this song until now. It just hits too close to the heart. I remember singing this song along with the crowd at a Social Distortion concert down at Bogart’s in Cincy. It was really beautiful and remains one of those memories that I hope I never lose.

wholesome? have you followed Ness's journey from 15 year old drug addled, jail living near casualty to an second chance most people never get? his band quit on him after a show in 84, a classic punk rhythm section. the guy did it the hard way. go checkout Their early stuff...they still sneak a few of those songs in...his ljourney was rather ugly and while i prefer the early stuff...he wrote some real solid tunes, this one being probably as good as any. Cold Feelings, id live to hear a little more raw, but the band was a business by then. i have full respect for him and dennis, who stuck by his side until his unfortunate passing. He may seem wholesome, but this guy wrote Mainliner, Lude Boy, and other songs you hope your kids dont identify with. My best friend from grade school loved Prison Bound and the s/t album...drank himself to death, the same year i lost the girl i was going to marry. I wish he'd lived to her this---its gotta touch anyone whos lost someone they couldnt live without. i didnt function well after that ragic 18 months. I check this tune out when i wanna torture myself, i guess. Lifes been an empty, confusing series of failures. Since then, ive lost friends, my parents and a failed marriage. christ, why am i writing this...

May our fallen find the peace that the mortal world lacked, and that St. Michael strike down their demons. We have lost so many, so many taken too young. You are loved.

@@thomasybarra9435 I was really young when I lost my grandparents, barely remember them other than old photos, and my mom through a million disabilities is still holding on strong. I can't imagine loosing both of them back to back, just have faith in them being in a better place now. I've lost so many friends over the years though, I'm sending good vibes to you, keep holding on and it'll get easier, you won't forget them but it'll get easier to cope with in time.

This is just a proving ground my friend, pick up your cross and walk forward knowing God has felt your pain and is with you today. Our home is somewhere else, stand up strong, feel no pain, life and death don't mean a thing... Great song!

Been a Social D fan since the late 80s. These guys are the epitomy of Rockabilly. It's just raw music at its finest. They fit in to the punk rock category but they're so much more than that. They're the real deal.

I remember the first time I've heard this song. Was the most raw form of expression of anguish in a song. That feeling remains. Seens so sincere.

You know, guys. I have come to know the work of SxDx not so long ago. At first I didn't like the sound and abandoned the music. But after a while I have listened once again. SxDx's music have some flair that forces you to listen it every day. By this time I already knew that band was iconic in the history of punk-rock. I believed that nothing can surprise me now. But then I saw this video. I have been shocked. Not only that, the group has existed for almost 40 years, and is still alive, the group has become one of those who make history. But the most important thing is that music like this really affects people. Reading comments of all those people made me crying. That was a first time when I cried because of music. It is amazing, to how many people this music helped to overcome difficult times in life, how many pleasant memories can this music bring to some. Mike Ness - you're the man, who writes touching, amazing and meaningful music, which is listened by millions of people, including me, every day. It was a great pity for me that band have spent last fall on tour in USA, and I had no opportunity to hear it alive, because I'm from Russia. I hope that one day Mike Ness organizes Russian or European tour and I'll have my chance of a lifetime to witness the performance of this legendary group. Social Distortion's and Mike Ness' music will always be in my heart. Whoever had read this till the end - sorry for my bad English, I had to use autotranslation. I hope, everyone could understand my message.

Like Rosanne Cash said for a song in a tribute to her father 'this song is full of love and rythm', and in this case it is not only a tribute to Dennis as we all may feel here, but also to all of us that for years and years already have been living high and low in emotions being strongly helped by this song and social d. This will never get old, this is part of our hearts!

When I die this song will be played. My Social Distortion records will be stored on a small safe - along with some others - and nobody can ever sell them. Giving only my children the combination so they can carry Social Distortion's music into the next generation. This song means way to much to me, this band has saved my life on multiple occaions through music. I am now forever greatful to this band and will always have their music in my heart, as they have shaped me to who I have become.
