LDNballer Yes, Akala is a very impressive individual, but the problem with politics is exemplified in your comment - representative politics has no empowerment for the average citizen. Always looking for somebody to represent us, to do things or our behalf, stunts both our personal and communal growth. Direct action is the key to working class empowerment. Horizontal organisation and delegation, not hierarchy and representation, are what’s needed to give power back to ordinary people.

I hate to be the one to bust your bubble mate, but the truth of the matter is this: He only got treated with respect by that panel of left wing virtue signalers because of the colour of his skin. Had he been a white person or, even worse, a white male, putting the exact same narrative out there in public, Waleed Ali and Lisa Wilkinson would savaged him like a couple of rabid dogs. Basically, if hypocrisy was real estate, the members of The Project would hold the mortgage on it.

@@PHlophe I’m not necessarily saying it’s the example for this guy I don’t know enough about him, but I feel some white people often to put a larger emphasis on class then race so they can claim some sort of victim card. Class discrimination is a definitely an issue in our society (especially England) but I feel like race is the biggest issue. I think a working class white male would get the benefit of the doubt above a rich black man. I have seen some examples of this in my life.

@Black Gold Every nation has done fucked up things. Im sorry you want to believe that its only ever been white people but your racism isnt justified and you need an education. 1. The Burmese went on killing sprees once their empire got some guns. They raided villages of surrounding and peaceful people like the Thais who had to fight them off with martial arts. 2. The Samoans genocided their southern neighbors called the Moriori who happened to live by a pacifist doctrine killing women and children regardless and enslaving whoever was left. 3. Rwandans collected aids patients from hospitals, a few thousand strong and formed them into rape gangs to which many women today are still suffering from the effects.

No they dont, they cut in when hes talking left right and center - to disrupt the truth of his points and ask incredible loaded questions to create a framework of their liking. Im British and the BBC are very good at this, they do it all the time to control the framework of convo's to fit their agenda and on top of that you will notice they disable comments on YT all the time. As they cant have the viewers calling the BS out and putting light on things. This is why I was intrigued to see how Australian TV would operate, and I am pleasantly surprised. They were respectful, allowed Akala to finish his points and have a all round adult conversation.

LOL he just says it's much better now than it was before, people have more rights, woman have more rights , minorities have more rights than 100 years ago, which is true. And some people are nagging that he is crazy and lefty etc. Even if he is I did not see anything wrong in what he said in this interview, history of Britain is cruel and there is no doubt about it... now we have the time when we all have a chance and still people are mad about it ? You want to come back to the past , when only certain group of people was privileged ? I really do not understand people, but I guess human beings are not 'good by nature...'
