I’m from the UK. This is a comfort food for me when I’m sick. Buttered toast then a thin layer of marmite. Delicious

You just added salt to something you described as a "salt bomb." You're a complicated man, Mr. Ely.☮

That tomato needs it on top! 😂 But yes you’re absolutely right & I am so often stupid.

@@HeySeanEly I ALWAYS have to put salt on tomato no matter what other salt is going on. same with avocado.

Thanks, Patrick, for donating for this one! For us non native Marmite eaters, this is a taste as are NOT familiar with. 👍

In England we have it for breakfast - on white toast, with plenty of butter and a thin spread of marmite 😊

When I eat Vegemite (or the New Zealand version which, funny enough, is also called Marmite), I ALWAYS have it on buttered toast. I never have it any other way! It's been my go-to food when I can't think of anything else to eat. The thing with Vegemite is that it HAS to be spread thinly on the buttered toast. You can't have too much of it on the toast.

I usually see a small shmear of Marmite on buttered toast, the butter is key. But I love a Marmite Spaghetti, you just cook like 80 grams of spaghetti, drain saving little water on side in case you need it, throw it back into pot and add TBS of cold butter, like a TSP of Marmite (start small), stir till you just get a glossy sauce, add Parmesan on top and fresh cracked black pepper. Laten night meal when I can handle salt lol... it's actually a Nigella Lawson recipe she got from Anna Del Conte I believe, an Italian chef :)

I've made gravy using marmite. I didn't have broth, but I mixed marmite with water and cooked it down with a roux. Was very tasty on mased potatoes.

Weird, never had it with cheese and tomato. I had marmite on buttered toast, also vegemite on buttered toast. I prefer the marmite over vegemite. It is such a wild flavor, where i cannot tell, do i enjoy it? do i hate it? wtf indeed

Nope would not eat it. I was part of an exchange program with the Australian Army. We send Marines there they send a group of their folks to America to see how each other lives and works. So I was in Australia for 3 months with their Army. Not once did I see or hear of anyone eating Vegemite. Nasty stuff I’m told.
