I can assure you this was also Radio-Canada's opening in Québec city's area in 1993! Man, as a kid I watched this video countless times waiting patiently for my early morning cartoons! Good old days!

It was the same I watched too before cartoons in Bas-Saint-Laurent! so I suppose it was presented in many regions

Yes, that was the opening very early. I find it everywhere as « CBC sign off » but It was what was starting the channel in Quebec

Wow! Brings me back to my childhood in the Early 2000’s I always used to get up late at night to watch these On CFXFT, OMNI TV , CTV 2 And CITV this was one of the first sign offs I saw on my first Night by accident on CBXFT Cable 12 I Actually live a mile away from the former analog Transmitter now digital Transmitter for CBXT-DT And CBXFT-DT it’s also are local CBC Radio 1 FM Transmitter I can always see it from my house! Can’t believe I’m turning 18 this month! It’s like I blinked and my childhood just flashed before me!

4:07 looks like 📻-🇨🇦 messed up with their aspect ratios for the programme guide. Since September 2007 they switched to letterboxing for analogue 4:3 broadcast. How come that as late as 2009 they were able to keep the sign-off sequence in proper 4:3 then suddenly stretch and cut the top and bottom sides off? Somebody must've been dozing off on the job... 😴 💤
