Society has helped us to have no capacity | J. Krishnamurti
Extract from the third seminar at Brockwood Park, 1978.

This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

I love the last couple of minutes especially. The dialogue seems to have reached a peak. K states that we do use the brain to see beyond the conditioning of the various authorities and teachers. And this seeing is not personal intelligence but intelligence itself. If it were personal intelligence then it would leave a mark - a personal mark, and thus be a thought, an image, not perception.

Yes, a natural intelligence. Free from predictable patterns and programming. People carry on utilizing the instrument of thought to come to the truth of the matter. Therefore, depending on the great thinkers to provide them psychological security. It comes at a shock to find these great thinkers could be easily replaced with the great machines. Without another to provide the answer, one must become a light unto themselves.

@inquiring_Together - Ol' yes, free from the conditioning of school, society at large, of which the majority have no idea, on idea one has been, and continues to be programed, who have been, are being filled with, poision, people are being used and abused by others and have no idea, is this unbelieveable...

i dont believe great thinkers could be replaced by machines. they relied on the same original intelligence you should rely on in life. this only means that their great ideas cant be communicated well enough to be copypasted by all other people. they should be viewed as inspiration, not as something to imitate blindly.

If you’re uncertain about your desires or haven’t achieved them yet, simply observe. Whether you know what you want or not, there’s no formula to force it. Forget the desire, for looking with a mind tainted by it is not true looking. Engage in what you enjoy, be playful, and simplicity will reveal itself. The mystery lies in the joy of existence, and wasting energy on anything else is a choice. Eventually, one realizes the folly of clinging to illusions over embracing joy.

It is said that we are born twice in this life; First by our mothers. Then by ourselves. I think that the process that J. Krishnamurti is describing here is: First we learn (from parents, friends, kindergarden, school, society, etc). Then we should UNLEARN what we have learnt. If we dont unlearn, then we become mentally rigid in the ideas, dull, and stops any form of genious to happen within us. The process of Unlearning, is the very process of becoming free.. Free from transmitted beliefs. Only pure knowledge is left. And one will be free to be creative and improvise with what one knows. And as we are free and creative, and play around with our insights and minds, we get to know ourselves.. For Real. Parafrasing Jesus here: "Let the dead be amongst themselves. Come you living souls and be with me".. We are not "Living Souls" until we have consciously Unlearned what we subconscious learned coming into this world. Is how i see it anyways. ☺🙏👌

This reminds me of a TV slogan "trust the science" - which is an oxymoron. Especially when someone calls himself an "authority" you can be sure he is not.

Very grateful for all your work. If I may make a request to add a link to the full seminar on these short videos. A lot of care was clearly taken to find stand alone moments. Thank you very much.

Although Krishnamurti said 'dont compare' he reminds me of Rousseau in that they both believed that good things happen in a state of nature while bad things are someone else's-or society's-fault.

He never judged anything as good and bad. He always says, observe and be with it. The very act of observation leads to intelligence and thereby liberation.

Assuming that knowledge is limited to our sensory perception alone is flawed. Not believing what we can not see is also not correct, because things can happen beyond our perception or understanding.

Are we, fundamentally, different from any given society (at whatever time/place) ? Whether this society has capacitated or incapacitated us is of secondary/superficial importance, isn't it? So the real question is, what the 'hell' is it to capaciate us (or incapacitate us, for that matter) ? To capaciate oneself is to dissolve one's own psychological structure absolutely, immediately and irrevocably; there by one is also dissolving the very identity any given society at its very roots. (Excuse me, for borrowing K's words liberally). Only this fundamental dissolution at its very roots,(the very psychological structure ; with its ignorant and illusory psychological time as its base ) will have its own reverberating effect on the outer society. Not the other way round. Please for god's sake, never ever blame any given society. Better blame one's own psychological structure, instead. Then one can put one's own teeth into one's own psychological structure; not the psychological structure of outward society. Basta.

Ironically, who think "Jesus will save you" means you're giving yourself to some outside agency simply don't understand what Jesus taught because they don't read the actual books, and/or are led by terrible guides. Jesus actually teaches you that you save yourself, you just have to read with that in mind. It's not easy, but once you see what Christ was teaching, it becomes clear.
