The cast are not spanish. They are all from Uruguay and Argentina because the story is about a Uruguayan group of people so they casted local actors.

It's much better than Alive. Great acting, great production, great music. It's a very uplifting movie but also extremely sad at the same time. If you haven't seen it yet, make sure you have something to dry your eyes with. There will be tears.

What a film and what a story. Alive was a good film but this has so much more content and of course cast from Uruguay.

Saw this movie at the theatre I work at. It’s very good powerful stuff. I was a junior in high school back in 1972 when this happened. I didn’t really understand how people could commit cannibalism even to survive. I was too young. Also remember when Alive came out and skipped it because I didn’t want to know those horrible details. Seeing it now I understand why people had the drive to survive against the odds. It’s a sobering look at an unthinkable situation. If you have the time look up J. A. Bayona’s first film. From 2007 ( The Orphanage). It’s in Spanish and really good.

I would honestly give it a 5/5. Its only real downside is that it can be a little slow and could have been shorter, but so could 71 days in the Andes, I’m not going to hold that against the film. Phenomenal writing, acting, and vfx. And Latin Adam Driver was a plus. And from Uruguay! Great work to all involved.
