Could you criticise the paragraph about extended families with the functionalist view and how they see it not fulfilling the same role as nuclear family for geographical mobility?

You can analyse this point in many ways. Yes you would be correct in suggesting that smaller families were more geographical mobile. You could also argue that the extended family network especially for migrants was important (especially if the move involved a different language, culture, etc), so the support network for indian families is high.
