Karl Marx said that Stratification will dissolve into a classless society, For that to happen the "Class-in itself" need to transform into "Class-of-itself". This process of transformation will come with the "True consciousness" about nature of exploitation. A "Class Solidarity" will emerge where people will have common identity, shared interest and will start "collective struggle" against the dominant class.

Karl Marx said that money is the root of all evil. When money starts flowing in the society people's condition improves. And thus with passing time it leads to stratification in the society which creates conflicts and may lead to conflicts in future and eventually to a revolution. Thus a simple society is now transformed to a complex society.

Sir, in Parson's theory, is it being assumed that a stratified society is also hierarchical? Because the concept of value consensus seems to involve some sort of ranking. But stratification can also exist without hierarchy as we studied in Deepankar Gupta's theory. What is Parson's say in a case where stratification is non-hierarchical?

Sir Karl Marx was an economic determinist, thus, he theorized that ultimately because of the inherent conflict between classes, the society would "EVOLVE" through successive stages (Primitive Communism --> Ancient Society -->Feudalistic society--> Capitalist Society--> Communist Society). The final stage, i.e. Communist society would be free of class conflicts as there would be no class and no state, thus THE RETURN OF THE TOTAL MAN.

Parson functionalist Value consensus of society norms of society rewards or the fulfillment of norms society rewards them. Structure as per the conformity.inequality of rewards leads to st.people SD per the capabilities people conform thereby assuring themselves as per their capabilities Consequences Inevitable functional society needs people who can. Do different task st serve to integrate.universal it will remain. Critics open society achievement based mobility is high don't apply to caste based India ascriptions based system St not always functions but divisive also. Dibr explore what will happens when people challenge st When society itself change. Modernization of Indian tradition. Basis Conformity to consensus .

According to Marx, the primitive society was an egalitarian one, consisting of wanderers , and there was no concept of private property; any naturally available resource was free for anybody to use. However, with the advent of concepts such as "surplus" and "deficit" in agricultural products, as well as individual ownership, society became stratified and inequality seeped in. Two extreme classes emerged, i.e haves and have nots; their name has changed over the ages, but their character has remained the same (e.g. Master/slave in ancient society; feudal lord/serf in feudal society/ bourgeoise and proletariat in capitalisitic society. However, he felt that class struggle would lead to revolution, bringing a socialist phase which would transition to a modern communism. Unlike the functionalist, he felt that future society would be free of stratification.

@vaishnabiswas6414
@vaishnabiswas6414 2 жыл бұрын
It seems like Parsons has assumed from beforehand that the society will be harmonic(As Andre Beteille explained). Just like the Shastra-based system created a sort of "value-consensus" in the form of the Varna system which everyone abided by, and chances of revolution were low. He also assumes that everyone will accept this so-called "value consensus", feeling that their inability to conform is responsible for their low position in the strata.
