Simply brilliant. It is impossible to explain Parsons, so comprehensively and so vividly in so less time. Only thing left is Parsonian idea of social change / evolution.

But simplicity is the very thing Parsons lacks. Talcott is way too much of a Freudian to be relevant in 2022.

Hello sir, I believe you have confused between moral (astheic,value oriented ) and expressive (appreciation, emotive)action. Please correct me if I am wrong.
@saramalik54408 жыл бұрын
Opinder Brar Brar, he seems disconcertingly unsure about the terminologies and they dnt really fit in with the examples given by him...I think three types of social action should be sth like 1.Instrumental social system: a system governed by objective goals, (tangible)with utilitarian value... Synonymous with rational action as thought by Max weber. 2. Personality social system where expressive components of personality are involved... Somewhat where expressions eg happiness, sadness, indignation... Like reading a novel gratifies our emotional need, feeling happy or empathetic .. It brings forth the emotional side in us, expressing sympathy with a victim in a novel, thus expressive.it should be psychological as well.moral is no way psychological.moral has extraneous source, that's society, not subjective Cultural social system: values or beliefs set up say by value consensus( structural functionalist), collective consciousness( Durkheim; social facts) in a society... Again they execute such actions just for the heck of it, society says so, with no individual benefit to a doer.Aesthetic values are attributed/ascribed by society coz society usually dictates what's beautiful and what's not, no wonder societies have their own standards of aestheticism... They intoto comprise the cultural system... He has murderously blended them into confounding mental chaos
@coolwitsguysm8 жыл бұрын
there is no instrumental social system. parsons make distinction between structure of social action and social system

God damn Shi.. I am french and I can assure you than trying to understand your English is like a torture for me. Then, correct me if I wrong but studying Talcott Parsons work is useful as soon as your learn not reproducing the mistakes he made, otherwise it's perfectly useless nowadays
@sandipyemnurwar7 жыл бұрын
France Damien then try no to visit indian channel
@Damien20847 жыл бұрын
Indian channel doesn't mean necessarily "Indian accent". Then, studying the worst part of the American sociological tradition in not criticising it, is as stupid as trying to use a medicine made in 1950 for treating a man's decease. Anyway, let s come back to what parsons bullshit theories are. Have you an idea of who Parsons is and how non-sociological is all his work ?
