I love this design of your sockets holders. RESPECT!! I would love to make a set like this. I wish a company would offer a design like this.

Wow! Very impressive. Hard to find good socket holders these are awesome. Like to see what you could do for wrench holders for a tool box drawer...

I like the old craftsman set but I like the socket holders far better. Ive made some wood rails before but not like those. If you ever want to make & sale those , send me a sample piece and I'll gladly review & promote them . Nice craftsmanship & precision work from what I see

Thanks for the compliment. I have no desire to go into this business. Unfortunately they need to be custom crafted to the size of each socket or else they will not be held securely. If too loose they will fall out even if the top is closed.
@billbrower44994 жыл бұрын
@@reilleysinventions4155 very nicely crafted; a small magnet inset in the base of each hole may solve the "falling out if the hole is not custom crafted" potential dilemma :)
@reilleysinventions41554 жыл бұрын
@@billbrower4499 I thought about using a magnet to hold the top closed rather than the springs. The problem with magnets is that they pick up all the iron chips that often accompany tools.

Really nice work but I’m surprised you didn’t get tear out, especial near the edges and where the bits were into the grain. Enjoyed video very much, thank you.
@reilleysinventions41554 жыл бұрын
I worried about that too. I used a really sharp metal cutting end mill and mahogany is pretty good with cutting.

That is really nice. I might have to do something simular. Don't have the fancy drill.

I'll try this with different size drill bits.

what is their dynamics when dropped? Sockets go everywhere or they stay intact? Don't have to do it on purpose, you can wait for the inevitable then let me know.
@reilleysinventions41553 жыл бұрын
I don't know. I think that the spring will hold the sockets in if it gets dropped but I have yet to find out.

you did an amazing job on those! btw I like your torx sockets, how they're all one piece. What brand are they?
@reilleysinventions41554 жыл бұрын
They are all Craftsman from a few decades ago. The Torx are one piece. The hex (Allen) are the two piece sockets that you see.

@reilleysinventions41553 жыл бұрын
No I don't. They would have to be custom to each socket set or the sockets will fall out.
