Sockeye salmon fishing Fraser River bottom bouncing

Bottom bouncing for sockeye salmon. Landing fish without a net. This man has done it like a pro.
Sockeye salmon once get into the river system, they stop bite. So, people use this bottom bouncing technique to catch them. DFO only allow to catch them while expected numbers of spawning fish already reach their spawning ground.

How is the fishing for sockeye up there now? I’m from Portland Oregon. I fished faster for sockeye in 2014. Very tempting to make a trip up there to fish for sockeye.
