Upper Rogue Salmon Fishing

Oregon is littered with rivers to catch salmon. Few, however, rival the springer run on the Rogue River. Situated near the town on Shady Cove, the Upper Rogue River uses releases from Lost Creek Reservoir to maintain salmon friendly cold water even when air temperatures soar past 110 degrees in Southern Oregon and the Rogue River Valley.
Armed with a mix of Red and Pink Fire Cure scented with Fire Power, Team Pautzke members Mick Thomas and Troy Whitaker spent a half day drifting the river with guide Steven Theel of S.O. Chrome Guide Service and found constant success back-bouncing Fire Cure roe as you'll see in this edition of Pautzke Outdoors!

I live on the upper rogue dont waste your time on this river its a washed out joke.Last good yrs were the late 1980s. There just trying to sell bait.Only thing u can catch for sure out of the rogue these days is Hepp C. Its a shame lived here since the late 60s. My dad was a forman on that dam it ruined that river. Any of us that were born and raised here all know that to be true you can bullshit yourself otherwise if you wish the only trout u catch out of there these days are all the stockers they plant for the little kids and tourists
