SoD is Officially Dead! All the New Classic Servers Coming This Month

So many streamers trying to flog SoD is getting beyond annoying. Unironically the most fun I've had since vanilla/TBC has been in SoD. It'll be a real shame to see streamers jumping the content bandwagon to bury it under a fresh/HC release. I'll be honest, I can't go back to classic for a litany of reasons that are rectified in SoD, Class balance being the main one.

I stopped after ST phase. I was just disappointed that the raids are just SOM re skin. And we now have to wait until phase 7 for new stuff? I was hoping for a new raid or dungeon either other phase

Just a few of the many horrendous aspects of no changes vanilla. PEople wanted TBC fresh, not vanilla fresh. I'll be playing SoD, I can never go back to that archaic mess that is original vanilla. This guy is supposed to be a sod streamer yet watching him live yesterday, he was more excited to level a level 1 character on vanilla wow with his virgin friend dwarf lord, then do an SM raid in sod.

The reason vanilla andys dont like sod is because they never truly wanted classic plus anyway. They have said many times that constant fresh vanilla servers will satisfy them. Now they get the slop that they ask for. Those servers will be dead after New Years.

Come on how can you not enjoy being there just to debuff the bosses to increase warrior players damage, oh but remember there is a debuff limit, so only a handful of you get to actually do anything while everyone else spams 1 button because we got to buff the warrior (and rogue) dps.

If SoD is dead then why are there THOUSANDS of ppl farming the hives dry in Silithus atm? That many people wouldn't care for a mount on a seasonal server if it'd be dying or already dead... Tons of people are even coming back with the amazing changes the new Phase 6 brings, changing the WorldBuff meta completely :)

SOD is going way to wierd for me, so ridiculous... it's NOT classic which i love! 40 man raid -best experience i enjoyed in my life!! 25 warriors in raid, classes aren't balanced, 2 items per boss?...i don't give a f...k... the sod data mines have me more hype to play sod now than at any time in its history. phase 6 is gonna be the best yet! no idea why they didnt showcase the new items and gameplay changes like bottle world buffs, new mounts, brand new pvp items for all classes, and completely upgraded professions SOD is definitely not dead

Please Blizzard if you read this, nerf Priest Bubbles in Sod. It is not fun for other healers when everything is absorbed and there is no damage coming out to even heal. I quit SoD a couple weeks in after seeing all the changes to my class (Druid). I do see this as a cop out - we wanted classic plus way more than fresh but this is the cheaper alternative. I get it. I took a break from classic so I’ll come back to play fresh - I never did end game content in vanilla era anyway. That includes the dungeons. But they should have given us Plus not Fresh.

It costs a lot for a "real" classic+ and this classic team isn't like what we have in retail. I'm not quite even sure blizzard is capable of it after all this time. I missed out of the classic launch at 2019, also missed out on TBC so I'm really excited personally.

@ they talk about mega servers but that remains to be seen. They made a few fresh Wrath servers and there was some interest but the mega servers were the old ones. They died out eventually. I can’t help comparing these fresh servers to those.

after playing SOD i dont think i could ever go back to normal classic servers. without the runes, new raids and, gear regular classic would just seem very boring… i love being a mage healer and healing with all the priest runes, classics plus just needs to happen.

You know what’s funny. Some guilds that I know don’t care about classic 2.0 because the time line make it an expedited classic wow. It’s not going to be 2019. There has been various quality of life in sod that is coming which is very enjoyable. Imagine having world buffs at any time during raiding. You die and it’s not a big deal. Rebuff with world buff consumes.

Definitely not dead... more like a coma for a couple of weeks. My prediction is that as soon as the initial hype for fresh dies, people will be right back to SoD. Especially for phase 7. I'm also quite sure that if there's enough player demand, they will continue to give us more content. After all, all of this stemmed from community demand. See you all in SoD!

I've played vanilla back in 2005 and 2019 classic. Sod is just so much better in many ways. I'm sure classic classic is going to pop off at the start. After the first 2 months, it'll start to die out. 40 man raids, 3 pieces of gear per boss, always needing 20 warriors and shamans in each group, pushing your 1 button as a caster, wearing a dress as a paladin, tier gear being trash for most classes, and so much more. If sod people leave to play new classic, they'll realize so fast how good they had it in sod.
