I’m running a 0/5/26 build. I take imp concussive in mm. Then I take 5 parry, 5 trap immobilize, 5 imp wing clip, 2 trap duration, 3 stamina, deterrence, counterattack, 2 trap resist, and 2 savage strikes. I use a 2hander and use lone wolf/flanking/trap launcher/melee specialist/chimera for runes. No issues closing the gap, chimera still crits for 800 with BFD xbow and disarm is OP.

If you are gonna pvp as Melee there is no option but Deep Survival. Trust me. BM is okay, but Survival annihilates as well as you have so much utility and you can still use your pet. with HoL rune and BM rune on pants.

I definitely agree. There are a lot that like PvE/PvP and after the recent changes it makes it so BM will probably be stronger. It’s only an option

not yet. there really isnt that great of another option, and together w the dual specialization it still makes it worth to stay with the 2 swords. seems like they are tinkering w the spec tho.

Why do you choose aspect of the hawk for the bm spec as melee? I copied it and just now I was wondering when you'd use it. As melee you mostly use aspect of the monkey. Cheers for a reply!

in group fights and STV/BGs i like to open with rapid fire + aspect of the hawk and just burst as much as i can before going in. that way i dont get targeted and killed in the opening seconds. it also makes it so you can go full ranged BM super easy.

What do you use to close distance in pvp with the full survival spec? We dont have a dash, and wyvern sting cant be used in combat. Could use trap launcher but not sure if its worth the trade off of dual wield spec. Not sure if you've tested both and have a solution.

Feign death and wyvern is the best. But for spriest you really have to have wyvern stongi to get close or you die trying to close gap. When wyvern is on cd it really is kitting back and make sure you have upper hand before going in

Ofc ! Trap Launcher is definitely viable too, and will definitely make your kiting alot easier. I use Trap Launcher when i am in STV for example. For BGs or solo i feel safer w more dmg knowing that i could out duel people if i or they get close.

You can run trap launcher default and just swap to second pair of boots with dw when you actually get the chance to melee. Especially in bigger zergs in WSG mid etc you cannot just run in and melee anyway. You can either throw trap while out of combat and swap mid air or you just use FD to drop combat when you used your traps. In 1v1 situations you want to setup your target first anyway, so you can just Freeze Trap on range (if Wyvern CD) and then just wait until Frost Trap is back up which will drop combat in the process so you can just swap to dw then. Takes a bit to get used to, but it is fairly easy once you got the hang of it.

Not trying to be rude, I seriously just want to give some feedback. Your talent choices are a bit weird. There is absolutely no valid argument to not pick Deter and Counterattack, period. Also 2 points into Trap Mastery is just one wasted talent point, since the extra 5% hit literally do not do anything in PvP as you are already capped with the first talent point. Entrapment is single handedly the best PvP talent for Hunter, anything below 5/5 is just missing out on the most broken talent we have in our kit. As for making space for those points: It is up to personal preferance if you rather want 5/5 Survivalist and take 2/5 Lightning Reflexes (Agi is not really high, especially not with the mail set pieces from Gnomer) or you go 2/5 Survivalist and 5/5 Lightning Reflexes.

melee hunters get kited easy. They have zero cc breaks, zero gap closers and a nice dead zone where they can't melee and can't range. Melee hunter op raids, fail pvp.

hunters are kiters. if you are pressing W forever you will die a ton. you have to take your fights w wyvern and kiting yourself w traps and concussive shot. Hunters are wearing a ton of leather pieces too , so not having full mail is also gona make us squishy

Currently playing a BM melee and I've got intimidation as a gap closer and a pet that'll solo just about anyone with bestial wrath up. Best way to play it against other melee is pretend I'm a MM hunter and let them close the gap, only to get eaten by my raptor strike 😎

You're coping about how there is virtually no opportunity cost to being a melee hunter. You can be a totally normal ranged hunter and then instantly change runes via feign death/change equipment to crit a warrior in the face for 1200.
