over the years...we've usually gone with granular apps when we go for "preventative" modes of action, and go with wettable/liquid spray when treating in "curative" modes of action looking for "quick knock down" of lawn/landscape pests... what is the applicator's comfort zone? these chemicals are quite safe and effective when used correctly....

good call on promoting "Brian's lawn" he's a couple miles up the highway from us...Brian's the kind of person we would've hired for our company, knowing he would branch out on his own sooner than later, but he would be the positive influence for everybody else in the company we all need... So I follow Brian more for the motivation than the knowledge...although old dogs need to find new tricks too! I've been around in the "green Industry" for too long, lol...40 years, and find that you and guys like Brian make it easier for the lay person to understand...therefore our customers and our new employees can benefit from the info you've put out on YT! thanx to The lawn Care Nut for the educational info... to all that want to DIY, follow the label's direction completely, to avoid the dreaded "due to over exposure" problems that come with handling the "ides" of lawn and landscape care, there are absolutely NO SHORT CUTS! retired owner, Aspen Lawn-Scape

Allyn very interesting comment you made at the end that some lawn care business owners get good tips from you and apply it in there day to day and even train their employees. This is a question now don’t they have to be licensed to be applying any type of chemicals to customer properties? I just know here in Florida you would need a L&O license to apply to customer properties. I’m a 20+ year GHP CPO in florida. Thanks for your continued videos it’s a learning time that I really love. Great video Allyn! So many folks in my lawn groups deal with these fellas. They are my enemy. Two things I saw- your bird poop may be bird poop, but look in that area next time and try to find a couple more for me. That appears to be what we call window feeding, where an insect eats through one side the leaf and leaves a 'window,' converse to hole feeding that is more common. Two, SW eggs are laid in flat clusters on the leaf are are clear/creamy white. They later turn an amber color. The twitter photos provided looks like dried frass. In really bad outbreak areas you get a dusty appearance through the entire area from dried grass particles. Cheers!

I’ve put down a liquid application plus the granular. Have not noticed any effect with these damn moths. I have treated my lawn about a month ago with the complete granular and hopefully that will kill off the larve. I got some Bifen 7.9% and will put that down on Saturday. If there’s anything else I need to be doing please share! I was wondering if the moths originated from me watering my lawn daily because of the fertilizer/insecticide I put down. Hummm….Thanks!

How long does the Bifenthrin 7.9 control sod webworms in the lawn?
@rickjames1246
@rickjames1246 4 ай бұрын
Bifen is a contact knockdown insecticide. It will coat the grass blade and the worms need to make contact with it for them to die. How long the product will last on the grass is dependent on rain/water and mowing frequency. Generally you will need to spray every 3-4 weeks when spraying your yard. It will last maybe 1-2 months when spraying for bugs around the exterior of your house.

Do you ever fish in the pond behind your house? If so you should make a video of it cause I notice your pfg gear

I don't fish back there but my neighbor does and he regularly pulls 6lb bass out of that pond.

After my last few mows i have noticed the next day there would be a good amount of pupa on my garage floor near my mowing shoes. Any ideas there??

Huh. I got some bifenthrin a month ago to do perimeter general spray like you showed last year. And the moths scattered as i sprayed. Maybe i got that problem too.

just extend it out on the lawn - all good! It's a very versatile insect control for sure.

Woooo wooo woo how do you “take care of wild Bermuda”????
@TheLawnCareNut
@TheLawnCareNut 4 жыл бұрын
That grass back there is ProVista so it is glyphosate tolerant and I use that to kill the bermuda that invades.

Should you do applications like this as a prevention instead of finding a culprit insect?

I've been using Scott's GrubEx now for several years in late Spring and have had pretty good success. I still see those "dive bombing birds" that fly all around when I mow here in Minnesota (sparrows ????) and see a few moths here and there, but I haven't had any lawn damage. My Japanese Beetle infestation has really declined since I started using GrubEx. I just worry that I might be taking out earthworms or other good soil bugs or bacteria, etc...

I’ve applied the triazicide liquid form in the past and it turned my St Aug a rusty brown color, now perhaps I over applied or maybe the temps were too warm but I have to be honest, I’m a little skeptical when applying these products as I do not want to harm my St Aug. any advice on what I may have done wrong? Btw St Aug is currently looking great (hence why I’m so skeptical) this happened a while ago. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I've not known insecticides to stress St Aug like that so it's likely a coincidence. SA gets leaf spot bad in summer anyway. If you are still concerned, use granular.
