Thank you for the correct directions, The last video I watched , The directions were backwards for the small tank valve. Screwing the small tank valve inward depresses the pin and opens the small tank, screwing it counterclockwise pulls the pan up and closes the small tank. Wow some people just want to get a video out even though they don’t know what they’re talking about. Thanks buddy good job

FWIW. I got much better fill levels when I brought my 20lb tank in from the cold garage into the house. The pressure in the big tank is usually rated at 70 degrees (F). I also stuck the brass valve gizmo in the freezer with the SodaStream tank.

Thank you for explaining the process very clearly; worked well for me.

Got an identical setup as yours. Brought a new valve for my sodastream large tank. When I connected everything together and opened the valve slowly, all I get is air out of the two over flow holes in the side screw. I turned over the big tank and tried again. Still get air out of two holes. BOMMENTS.

How many soda stream bottles will a 20lb tank fill? Thanks
@martyg3742 жыл бұрын
Soda stream bottle is 1 lb. The SS makes 50 multiply by 20= 1000

How do I know if I have a cylinder with a syphon tube, I have a 6kg cylinder and its thin and heavy and not easy to turn upside down. I managed to fill my sodastream bottle with only about 100g but I never put it in freezer and I opened the lever to full, next time my co2 runs out I will follow your procedure and see what happens, 100g is just not enough, thats about 25%

you can purchase food grade co2 tank and also refill your large tank at any AIRGAS, OR PRAXAIR store in USA.

I had heard that the SodaStream tanks had a weird thread and valve making them not able to be filled. But you clearly just did so, is there anything else besides this Refill Station and a normal CO2 tank that is needed? And should you get a Food-Grade CO2 or does it matter? Been struggling with this as I had bought another one, the SodaMod, setup for it to use their refillable tank and it has an adapter for it, but getting it filled is being a bit of a pain. If I could just get a 5LB CO2 tank and this refill station it sounds like I could do it all at home and just take the 5LB tank to be filled at any welding store to get the Food-Grade CO2.

they say non food grade co2 has oils and other additives to help prolong the life of machines. food grade co2 is not much more expensive, it is probably worth it. the weird thread and valve are why you need their custom adapter.

I bought one of those adapters but it does not fill, shouls I empty the bottle( CO2) tank from soda stream) first?

Thanks for the helpful video! I’ve got basically the same system, but a smaller co2 tank. I hear mixed instructions on whether or not I need to turn my tank upside down. How do I know whether or not it needs to be flipped? My tank does NOT have a siphon tube.

Then you have to turn it upside down.

Fast question. I got my new hose and filler gear. I filled two tanks no issue, but my third tank once filled froze open and turned icy. When I tried to refill it, it didn’t take. Have you heard of this before? The issue is with the soda stream tank not my 20lb tank or refill kit.
@chrismcnee92874 жыл бұрын
@Matt cool. I’ve been having no issues since than so perhaps it might be the tank, before I tried it? Or perhaps the newer tanks are rigged not to be able to refill? Who know but I appreciate your feedback

Is this adapter compatible with Drinkmate cylinders?
@rsilvers1294 жыл бұрын
Does that large tank have a siphon inside it? It is not clear if you were putting gaseous or liquid c02 in there. Your printed instructions say to use a siphon tank so I assume it is one. How do you know you are putting in 425 grams?

I have the same question...

K Red it does have a siphon as it wouldn’t work without it.

Once everything is connected momentarily for one or two seconds let CO2 go into the line and the small tank then vent it and do it again then vent it. that way there’s no residual air in the line and small tank.

If your freezer cold small tank still has pressure in

If your freezer called small tank still has pressure in it vented to close to zero and you’re fine you do not have to vent it multiple times

HELP !! I tried this but it works for like 10 secondes and it stops. I read that we need to freeze the sodastream tanks and invert the co2 tank but it still doesn't work. If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

Now I have not yet done this with co2.... But when refilling 1lb propane cans off the 20lb tank i have to open the pressure release valve to achieve the proper weight.... A scale is needed to achieve weight and not be over filled because of leaking issues. Again on propane not sure about these co2 but I assume is similar.
