No it is not a festival, it was a Soda Stereo Concert 🤘🏼 one of the greatest latin rock ever! And i think if im not wrong it was the last concert of soda as a band and Gustavo Cerati started as single singer, at the end of this song gustavo cerati (the vocalist) speech became his most popular worlds finishing with “GRACIAS TOTALES” such a great band

If you want to know the magnitude of this band, just think about this: when Cirque du Soleil created Shows inspired by the most important musicians in the world, they only did shows for Elvis, The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Soda Stereo (Show: Séptimo Día - No Descansaré - 2017/2018).

Soda Stereo's "El Último Concierto" tour was played in some Latin American countries. The last one, in Buenos Aires, gathered around 70 000 people in River Plate Stadium. I was proudly one of them. 10 years later, in 2007, they made a bigger tour (this time would be the last one), filling 6 times that stadium and gathering ONE MILLION fans in the entire tour.

@javiern.martinezr.
@javiern.martinezr. 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Frank! This song was the last song Soda played in their farewell tour in 1997. On that occasion there must have been 50 or 60,000 people in the stadium. Ten years after this tour, they reunited to go on tour to the US and Latinamerica because it's a hugely popular band in the whole continent. When the tour was over, a CD and a DVD were released with footage from different gigs but that was the definite end of the band. The lead singer, Gustavo Cerati, released a solo album in 1994 while he was still in Soda Stereo and when the band split, he committed full-time to his solo project and released several highly acclaimed albums: Bocanada, Siempre es hoy, Ahí Vamos and Fuerza natural. The beauty of Soda Stereo and, particularly, of Gustavo's work is that the style of each album is quite unique and different from the previous one. Gustavo suffered a stroke right after a concert in Caracas in 2010 and he never recovered. He was in a coma for several years and saddly passed away in 2014 at a very early age. His repertoire is quite diverse and includes rock-and-roll songs, some soft ballads, electronic songs with tons of samples, fusions with folclore genres from the Andes and other regions of Argentina, etc. I strongly recommend exploring it! Regards!

"Soda Stereo" and "Caifanes" were highly influenced by The cure, even the hairdo, makeup, and the happy-sad scream, these bands were born in the 80's.

There were 70,000 people on the Monumental Stadium that night (River Plate soccer team stadium). This is the last song of their last concert together as a band, the Gustavo Cerati (lead guitar and singer) started his solo career, which is FREAKING amazing too. Greetings from Costa Rica, PURA VIDA!

This was recorded in 1997 and it was the band’s last concert before Gustavo Cerati, the singer began his career as a solo artist. Ten years later in 2007 they reunited and did a tour all over Latin America and the US called “Me Veras Volver” (You’ll see me return). That was the last time the band played together since Gustavo died in 2014 after being in a coma for 4 years

This concert was recorded in 1997, so it's older than you thought. It was called "El último concierto" because was the last one as a band, but they returned for other tour in 2007 called "Me verás volver". Indeed some people have compared Soda with The Cure. At the beginning in the 80s, they had not only the sound, but the look of them. You should check the MTV-Plugged Soda Stereo, it's simply AWESOME. Soda Stereo never played their songs as they did in studio or in other live concerts, so every time you listen to a song from different concerts is a unique experience. Gustavo Cerati, the vocal leader passed away in 2014 after four years in coma. He had some solo albums you should check. He was truthfully a genius
