Indio Solari is the name of the singer....and the song is from 1986, when he was the lead singer of a band called "patricio rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota" also known as "Los Redondos"...and he is the guy that move more people to his concerts in the world, and only in Argentina, where he is consider a God, the rest of South America doesn´t know him very well. Unfortunately Indio Solari got Parkinson and doesn´t play anymore concerts...On the other hand Soda Stereo was the most popular rock Band in South America, but his lead Singer, Gustavo Cerati, Died in 2014....

Also, I want to mention that Los Redondos never signed any contract with any major international record company and never performed outside Argentina but once in Montevideo, Uruguay. Their philosophy and political beliefs were very strong in the band, so they wanted to be as less comercial as posible. Their huge succes relays on the their very political, popular and so deep metephoric, full of local slangs lyrics that represents the lower medium worker class from Argentina of the 80's and 90's (still does, of course). Also, as a band they had to grew in the middle of the 70's dictatorship as many other historic argentine rock bands, prohibited and persued by the Junta.

Indio Solari was lead vocalist of a legendary Argentinian band named "Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota", thankfully shortened by everyone to Los Redondos. Redondos are best understood in comparison or contrast to three bands. One is the Grateful Dead. Like the Dead's music, Redondos music is best appreciated and experienced live. Their audience followed them from venue to venue like the Deadheads followed the Dead on their day, and quite a bit of the audience that follows Solari (the solo artist) is a Redondos audience. The second band I compare Los Redondos to is the Rolling Stones. Same as the Stones eventually coalesced around Jagger and Richards, Los Redondos coalesced around singer Solari and guitarist Skay Beilinson. The dynamic between those two caused most of the magic of their art. The other band that needs to be talked about is Soda Stereo. Redondos were the antithesis of SS. Where Redondos were explicitly leftist and anti-commercial, Soda was unashamedly commercial and apolitical. While Redondos did precious little to market themselves or their music outside their country, Soda always looked to conquer the world. These two bands represented the best of Argentinean rock, and to have them around at the same time was wonderful. Finally, Solari's present band features past members of Soda Stereo main man Gustavo Cerati's backing band, and while Gustavo passed away without properly saying goodbye to anyone, Solari, a 71 year old man with Parkinson's Disease, is saying goodbye on his own terms. Couldn't expect less from a Redondos man.

One of the greatest Rock frontmans from Argentina was ITALIAN, His name was Luca Prodan, and the band name is SUMO. They had a very short career due to the death of Luca (1987) . You should listen to them, they have many many good and iconic songs. - La rubia tarada - No tan distintos - El ojo blindado - Que me pisen - Los viejos vinagres etc etc They only did 3 studio albums , but their legacy was huge

Culturally we have been exposed to all things north American and British for centuries. Latin Americans have an affinity towards the melodic estructures and aspects of rock, blues, jazz, etc. Our ears are naturally drawn to it because of that very strong cultural connection.

Te cuento EL INDIO es muy particular NO trabaja con ninguna discográfica el informa solo por internet sobre donde estará su recital generalmente son lugares abiertos porque lo siguen muchisisisimas personas va a pueblos .La gente del pueblo o ciudad que sabe que va compran bebida y comida para vender a la cantidad de gente que llega varias veces han tenido que pedir a otros pueblo porque se han quedado sin nada.Aparte viajan familias enteras a verlo le dicen LA MISA DEL INDIO.Da reportajes solo a un periodista .En este momento esta enfermo y se esta esperando que OJALÁ DE otro o el último recital.Mira el respeto que se le tiene que no filman ni suben nada de su show solo cuando el lo permitio.Con respecto a PAPPO otro genio toco con BB KING. Hello! well yeah, people know every single part of the lirycs, the song was released at 1986 and was one of the greatest hits of the band. The thing was that "Redonditos de Ricota" (the band was called like that, Indio Solari was the singer.) became some kind of a controversy in Argentina because of the crowd going crazy in every single show, people died in some or due to some of their concerts, some fell off the grades at a staduim, one was beated to death by the police after they took him among others for disturbance in another concert, a concert on 1997 were banned from the provincia (is another type of state, may be the same as province, I'm not quite sure) called Olavarría. Some years the band was dismissed and the singer began a solo career. On March 12, 2017, he was allowed to do a show after 20 years in that province (Olavarria) in a spot that had been prepared for that event with a capacity for 155,000 people and there were expected 170,000 people which was ok anyway, but 300,000 plus people broke in! a total insane amount of people over the maximum allowed! ), the investigation showed that there could have been around 550,000 people by the data they were able to gather in the following days. That brought tragedy again, two people died that day, and many were injured. The next year Indio Solari declared to the press that he has decided that he will never play a live concert again. Tragic story, seems like a fictional one but sadly it is not. Kind regards!
