I think someone with this attitude wouldn't be playing hardcore in the first place. Every character on hardcore can be lost at any time. But even besides that they have the option to not join. The whole point of the guild is for content and for better content they made it guild found items only. Bringing your character from outside that didn't play by the same restrictions would make it all pointless. Not to mention a bunch of idiots would be spamming all the streamers saying they cheated because they brought in outside items and now the guild is pointless. Just look at all the stupid comments complaining because Mizkif went from like level 6 to 9 without the addon and didn't have to delete his character. For some people getting to play with their favorite streamers is more than enough reason to join. For others this might be a great opportunity to expand their streaming career (if they are trying to do so). And probably the simplest reason, the guild is just another layer of fun from the game. No one is forced to join the guild, but if they want to be in the guild they have to follow the rules. It's really not that deep.
