I will forever remember this song... I heard it on my way home, the day that my dear dog died.. I earlier knew what happened but I was far from my house and at work, and this is the last song I've listened before oppening my door and cry with my family... She had a cancer and her last days were horrible, she was losing control of her body and I didn't recognise her at all, she was already gone and that's where this song punched me in the heart and mostly these 2 lines who perfectly describes how I was seing my dog and how powerless I was feeling : "I see you but I can’t feel your presence. I feel you but you’re fading away." I've always loved you from the bottom of my heart, Rest In Peace Chipie.

I lost my beloved cat after 10 month of vet, medicines and suffering for a damn lung disease...We tried everything, but he began to lose weight, he was not the same...one day we found him paralysed from the back legs, so we had to help him not to suffer anymore...After 15 years of love, the suffering seems to see no end from the day he's gone...He was like a brother, we grew up together...And now I'm here, listening to this song, watching his photos and video and crying...I completely feel you, I know how it feels losing someone you loved (and still love) so much, he was more than a pet...This song enter straight through your soul

As I'm walking alone, I remember the times when we played here Leaving a broken home, making sure we were whole and together Every failure we shared, every night that we were forsaken I would dream of a life far away from it all but you All these words that I left unspoken I will say when I meet you again I see you but I can't feel your presence I feel you but you're fading away Time is wise and our wounds seem to heal to the rhythm of aging But our past is a ghost fading out that at night it's still haunting We are growing apart still I know that inside you're aching But the scars that we share will remind us of who we are All these words that I left unspoken I will say when I meet you again I see you but I can't feel your presence I feel you but you're fading away Let it all wither Let it all wither and let it go Let it all wither Let it all wither and let it go Let it all wither Let it all wither and let it go Let it all wither Let it all wither and let it go Let it all wither Let it all wither and let it go Let it all wither

This is a masterpiece! The whole album is a masterpiece. Especially this song, at least for me. I felt like an old lighthouse enlightened my whole soul and made me realize I was so numb for a long time. I know it is a sad song, but you can feel the heart, the heat and the life emanating from the singing, the guitar playing, from all the musicians and people involved in such a perfect harmony. I feel the sadness in this song but the greatness of this feeling also makes me want to live all emotion in my life with this intensity, this fierceness.

My stepfather, who was arguably the biggest help in raising me as a child into becoming a young man, recently passed away after battling pancreatic cancer. I understand this song is not about a father and son, but the lyrics throughout this beautiful piece relate to the relationship that I had with him so much, and I find it therapeutic, heartwarming, and also very sad to listen to. "Leaving a broken home, making sure we were whole and together", relates to how he took my mother and I in his home, under his wing, and took such great care of us, and he treated her right. When I was 4 years old, him and my mom conceived with what was going to be their only child, and his only blood child, but she miscarried. He told my mom that "it's okay, we have Zach." Being 25 years old now, and him saying that means so much more to me than words could ever describe. "Every failure we shared, every night that we were forsaken", I relate to the hardships that we had the first couple years my mother and stepfather got together. We got through it all and we each came out stronger every time. "All these words that I left unspoken, I will say when I meet you again." Pretty self explanatory there. Although, in his last couple months when his cancer battle was beginning to get the best of him, I began telling him how much I love him, and how much I appreciate everything that he has done for my mom and I over the last 2 decades, among many other things. I wanted him to hear all of that and know that before anything bad would happen. So I am thankful that emotionally filled lyric does not hit me super hard. "I see you, but I can't feel your presence. I feel you, but you are fading away." This is the lyric that makes me cry every single time. When he was on his deathbed with about 10 minutes left to live, I was looking at him taking very few breaths, eyes open and no longer blinking, no longer able to respond, seeing that he was there, but I could no longer feel his presence. I went to the side of his bed and held his hand, "feeling" him, but I knew he was fading away. I told him thank you for everything. Raising me, taking great care of my mom, taking me under his wing as his own son, and just simply being a wonderful beam of energy to always be around. He passed away about 30 seconds after I said my goodbye. He had an ever so slight smile on his face. That was after about 2 hours of him unable to make any sort of expression or response of any kind. That will forever make me happy and keep me at peace with losing him. So with all of that being said, thank you to all who have read through my personal story about my stepfather who I will forever love so much. And thank you Soen for crafting such a masterpiece that I will cherish and relate to my stepfather for the rest of my life. 💙
