Can’t believe after watching many hours of videos by the top dog KZbin barbers about the babybliss FX787 trimmers that they really don’t explain the fundamentals like you have. Excellent video, thank you for producing it! Pro barbers learn the fundamentals! All errors in any endeavor can be traced back to the fundamentals. Any skill or craft or art form you can think of only has a few fundamentals. Thank you again Sofie for the awesome solid video! Why are the replacement blades for these babybliss trimmers so effing expensive?!!! Total joke Babybliss
@Staygold314 жыл бұрын
Thank you that means a lot !! 😀🙏🏽 Idk if the blades are that expensive considering the trimmer itself is usually around $150 when they first came out, but distributors could be adding a little tax to them depending on who’s selling. When we sold them at hair shows, they were flying off the racks. They should roughly be around 40-50$ ?

Hey Sofia; you're a TRUE giving soul. LOVED the way you patiently answered question from people asking about another barbers style (Wester).....SUPER DOPE!!!!! I'm DEFINITELY getting the black/gold trimmers. So If I want a better/sharper line like the gold f/x trimmers I should get the Fine Tooth graphite blade (FX707B)? I know your trimmers are releasing July 1st but I'm already seeing them for sale online. About to order mines.
@Staygold314 жыл бұрын
Ahh thank you William!! Fine tooth graphite would only be good for edge ups.. idk if it’s worth the capabilities of only having that feature unless u have multiple trimmers set up. Gold standard blade is great cuz it’s that in between.. but i use two types of trimmers blades per set up so i have my deep tooth blade running thru the bulk and lining things up and if I’m looking for that extra EXTRA detail square ... is when I’ll grab my standard blade to hit a corner. It’s not often, cuz i feel like u can do what I need with the graphite blade.. But this has inspired me to do a comparison video next actually showing the difference lol haha stay tuned!! Also I’m a clipper junkie so i say the more the merrier hahah get em all lol

Hi Sofie, great video. which one is best for regular balding? thanks
@kellyreinhold72954 жыл бұрын
I’m a licensed barber and I have gone through countless clippers and trimmers and after researching this trimmer, I was brought to this video and it’s what pushed me to suck it up and buy it. And believe me I can’t afford a $150 trimmer but I’m ready to make investments in my tools as I believe using good quality tools produce a better quality haircut. SO, I was so pumped to use this trimmer and when going around the ear, that t-blade cuts the little hairs like butter. When using it any other way however, like shaving up or down with it, it only cuts some of the hair. I had my coworker try it and her words were “that trimmer is garbage”. I know this can’t be right because I’ve seen nothing but great reviews on it. I even tried zero gapping it and no changes. My local cosmoprof that I bought it from will not let me return or exchange it. So I’m stuck with it. Wondering if you have any tips as to something that may be wrong with it or if you know a way I could possibly fix it?
@Staygold314 жыл бұрын
omg no im sorry to hear that. Not sure why thats happening. Try to take the blade off, clean off the hair, and zero gap again. If not, call customer service and see if they can swap it out for you. If that doesnt work, hit up Dennis Joseph Babyliss (DM on IG) and tell him i sent you. I can't promise he would answer back quickly cuz i know he gets a ton of inquires on the daily. I hope one of the 2 options help you because they are amazing trimmers!

Just for clarification, the Gold is the best for "edging" or as I call it, Lining/Outlining, which is what I'm looking for?? I do notice the variation in Prices for the Ferrari engine label/sticker on the Box, being well over $100 vs. the Non-Ferrari label/sticker on the Box, being under $100. However, it seems as though they're ALL the same Model#- FX787G, -R, -B. -BN, -GMG, etc., as a Suffix. I'm not a licensed Barber...just a Layman, cutting my Own hair because of the Pandemic. Thus, I have plenty of questions, as you stated, Before I Invest in any of these. I'm learning from you and whoever else I can.

Question: Does the fine tooth vs standard vs deep tooth have anything to do with the gap or is it the space in between each tooth that is different? Can the fine and standard be zero gapped (or adjust the gap) like the deep tooth? Thanks anybody and everybody who can clarify. I’m just learning the details and stepping up to better tools and appreciate the help!

All the different types of blades can be zero gapped yes. 😁 The difference is the space between the teeth and how much hair can feed through it

Sofie StayGold and what determined the cut hair length with these trimmers… the gap or the tooth? Would the deep tooth be able to get as close and defined as the standard or fine tooth if gapped properly?

@@sonicd57 I'm no barber but I feel like the stuble "length" would be determined by the gap and the blade "height" so to speak ? I suppose the deep / standard tooth thing doesn't affect the stuble length, but I'd like to know for sure :)

I have heard they are essentially the same and that all their blades can be interchanged between these two US and UK Babybliss Pro Level trimmers. fine tooth if only doing edge ups. If you do any bulk removing it needs to be at least standard or deep tooth

Sup Sofie, can you get guards for the babyliss pro fx trimmers? Or would I have to go with the clippers to be able to get up to 1” guard? Want it for beard trimming. Hope I can get guards for the trimmer since it’s more compact.

We don’t have guards for the trimmers unfortunately ): clippers would be the way to go

Hi Sofie ! What will be your choice for a black man who would just use the trimmer on his own beard at home ? My first choice was the black one but now, I’m a little confuse... sorry if my English is bad, I’m French 🙌🏾

If for yourself, go with the gold trimmer

Thank you for the explanation. I'm buying a fx787G. As you explained it comes with a regular tooth. So if in wanting to get a fine tooth for it, whats the number to look for?
@Staygold313 жыл бұрын
Yes that’s the standard blade. If u want fine tooth it’s ends with 707B

Sofie I have the Babyliss Pro Rose FX trimmers and I wanted to know if I can replace the blade that came with it to a graphite outline or any outliner.

Rose trimmer comes with a deep tooth blade. U can interchange with standard or dlc 2.0 blade 😁 just make sure it's for this type of trimmer and brand

Amazing video, also random question, but what was it liking working with wester the barber? I saw the collab of you guys on IG. It was a dope cut by both of u guys! Also maybe some parts where cut out, but he fades very uniquely, do u know the steps he does his fades in?
@Staygold314 жыл бұрын
Wester is very talented ! Detailed in his steps. 👏🏼🥳 I don’t remember his steps off the top but you can understand his process from watching loads of his videos. They kinda go through similar steps.

Sofie StayGold so i re watched a lot of videos, but the thing I don’t get is: he seems to take out the bald line with the half guard... I guess his fades are really compressed but even then, he guess up 1cm with the half guard above the bottom line, so I domt understand how he has room left for the open-closed lever? So if this sounds stupid, I’m a beginner, and just curious about how different people fade, to see what works best

Condensed fades are definitely harder cuz the guidelines are so short but maybe focus on understanding the stretched blend which have bigger guidelines and then you’ll be able to understand his method better. He jumps around a lot and usually it comes from people knowing their style of blending so when u watch it when ur newer to skin fades.. the order doesn’t always make the most sense. Go through the basics first, understand them well .. and when u watch it later .. it’ll make way more sense. You get what i mean? Cuz he definitely has space for each guide to hit.. but also it’s not always shown in videos.

Sofie StayGold thank you so much, sorry for being annoying, lol you and wester are my favourite barbers, but I find your styles are very different, both amazing quality, your fades are more longer and his are shorter. But thank you so much for replying

Tiffany green- Harrington it’s not annoying at all. Trust me , asking questions is important no matter what degree they are. One of my favorite quotes “closed mouths don’t get fed” 😀 it’s the best way we learn !
