I made this yesterday and came out super delicious. I also added lemon zest to the cake mixture and it gave a wonderful taste. Couldn't add condensed milk layer since i was unable to find it bcz we're under lockdown. The cake was so yummy even without it. It's my first time trying lemon cake. The cake from this recipe is really moist and my family members absolutely loved the texture of the cake. I added the zest before i read your comment and i think it was a great ideal,i also used almond flakes to decorate the cake as well as giving it some bite or crunch to balance out that rich taste and heavy texture.

Mine turned out sooo good! Only thing I changed was I put half the amount of castor sugar/icing sugar since I didn’t want it too sweet. Also, I made the icing first so by the time the cake is done baking the icing is ready. Of course, ill let my cake cool a bit before I put the icing or just use the icing as a dip lol

It has a soft, light lemon flavor, nothing too tangy. I wouldn't recommend adding more liquid, because it might change the texture of the cake.
