Not gonna lie, 6:35 was pretty slick. Also the armor is seriously impressive. Very expensive, but seems to back up the price with real performance.

Impressive results for it's class. Honestly thought most of that ammo would go through as they've defeated other 3A armor. Appreciate all the time and effort. Chrono testing all the ammo velocities and sharing the data. Then sifting through the layers and showing all the slugs at the end. Even showing the FN 5.7mm reliability issues (4:03). Good hands on review 👍

I'm getting into reloading and I'm really appreciating the Lee precision factory crimping. if I can turn the bullet I crimp it again. it's not so embarrassing to have things Fall apart but it also increases your precision when all of the powder is kept inside the case till it really starts to burn and pops the crimp loose

To everyone who thinks 556 is pointless at 5” pay attention to the end 😎🤣😶🌫️

Good call. You may like 22TCM, basically '223 short'. Parent case is 223 / 5.56 cut down to pistol caliber. It's 2Kfps out of 5" pistol barrel.
@gatcattill3 ай бұрын
@@BAdventures I actually do. Tisas makes a “2011” that’s got a conversion barrel for 22 tcm for a good price
@BAdventures3 ай бұрын
@@gatcattill Nice and you can try find barrels from RIA Armscor. They have them for 1911, and I think you can still find the Glock conversion barrels. And there's KAK blowback AR uppers now. Also custom AR DI gas uppers. I updated the Wiki article, including reloading data en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.22_TCM

VERY impressive. I wonder if the back-face deformation is the limiting factor, i.e. death from cardiac contusion or other internal organ damage for back-face deformation. What do you think, Dustin?
@marypoppins55663 ай бұрын
Probably yes. Assume you only have to take 1 round though, better then a full mag. Thats soft armor across the board.

Oh, those shotgun slugs near the end are a REALLY bad day. You're still going to the hospital for a few of these rounds, but I don't know if you're making it there with those shotgun slugs.

based on what I'm seeing here the average very well stuffed laundry bag would be safer to hide behind than a cement block wall. holy cow that's some tough laundry.

I wonder what would happen if you put a steel armor plate behind the soft armor so that the kevlar can't really catch and envelop the bullet?
@meanman69923 ай бұрын
Would love to see my own custom 9x19 solid copper SABOT rounds fired at that vest… they’re moving on out at 2,410+ fps, 42gr, pure copper, very pointy, and pass through Kevlar 3A in my testing down to 570fps. If I knew where to mail them, I could send some sabots and projectiles with the load data and instructions IF YOU RELOAD. (Will need Winchester AutoComp powder) I use nylon sabots to throw a .250” diameter projectile. In my gel testing even with armor in front of it, the wounding look quite rifle like at nearly 2.5” wound cavities for the first 4” or so shrinking down to a pin hole, my gel block was only 12” long but total pass through after defeating the armor.

Expressive little vest........ but how would you feel after getting hit with all that? Broken bones? ribs?
@Amelie0122823 ай бұрын
That would depend on multiple factors such as the weight and speed of the bullet as well as your body composition and tolerance, but this one in particular has a lower back face deformation compared to other brands. Their website is pretty descriptive :)

@@TopShotDustin If you're doing more testing please try 22TCM. Basically '223 short'. Velocity 2Kfps out of 5" pistol barrel, and 2800fps from a rifle. The speed usually helps it defeat other soft armor.

When are they going to make 3A rated that makes it so when you actually do get hit you can still breathe and moving fight back instead of cough on the ground in pain😂...
@BAdventures3 ай бұрын
This is lighter 'soft armor' designed for flexibility and comfort. Can use trauma pads. Solid and thicker armor options will absorb more and multiple hit capable. There was 'Dragon Skin' ballistic scale armor (now bankrupt and defunct). Designed to spread a bullet impact over multiple armor discs. Like medieval scale-mail or lamellar armor. Whatever method is used it's a trade off. The high velocity energy has to go somewhere.
@kenofken94583 ай бұрын
I don't think most people hit fall to the ground helpless in armor. A whole lot of officers have managed to return fire and stop incidents after being hit in the vest.
