If you're going to do it in layers, it has to be done 1 layer at a time.

little trick i learned, if you put a coat of sanding sealer into your wood and let the wood soak it up before glassing over the wood it will save you a tad bit of resin while also providing a extra layer of sealant!

Thumbs up for your sweat and effort. I 'm just waiting here for the last run of epoxy to set up on my old boat. Did much the same thing. Took 265lbs of wet plywood and foam out. Luckily the stringers were still okay. Not great, but I decided to sister-in a box frame between them and bolt thru good wood - then glass the crap out of them. I'm surprised you didn't over lap the edges to make the install a single structure with the rest of the boat? Any insight on that? I took the new floor up the sides a good 6 inches after laying in a fillet radius. Now, the cockpit floor is a waterproof tub that drains back into the well at the transom. Probably the best part of the old pig.

Im actually thinking about about redoing everything in coosa board stringers and all since I am so far into the project now. We will see.

How do you fasten the plywood to the stringers
@KnottsFishing2 жыл бұрын
I used stainless screws and a bed of epoxy on the stringer. Predrilled injected resin in the hole then send the screw in.
@kounlavong74383 жыл бұрын
Did you put any support joining the outside edges of floor to old edge of boat floor?
@KnottsFishing3 жыл бұрын
No supports on the far sides as the v of the boat made a perfect lip to bond the edges to.

@@johnackerman1160 yes the big cost is the core material you choose. If I had to do it over id go with coosa.
