I have been working on boats since I was 19, in Counce Tennessee on the Pickwick lake. It’s a huge transit stop, and a big time summer vacation spot. I decided to start my own detailing business after being let go end of season by a guy I was helping. Right before Christmas. So 2022 Alanah’s Overboard Cleaning and Detail was born, and I am soooooo grateful for your videos. If I ever feel like I want to learn more before providing a service your videos are where I go. You have seriously helped me so much. I enjoy the work, and hopefully I can continue to grow and learn! Don’t stop what you do, there are no other people out here that come close to being as informative and helpful as you are on boat detail.

This is such an informational video, thank you! I have been using Shine Supply products to polish and maintain my boat for several years, but yet still learned a ton from your video. It's hard to beat the satisfaction of putting such a nice gloss on an old oxidized boat. I have one question, can you tell me how you clean out your wool pad, yellow pad, and orange CCS pad both during use (if you do at all), as well as when you're all finished with the job?
@DrakesDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! You can’t really “clean” the foam ones, you pretty much just use those ones until they are gone. The wool ones, you can use a pad spur to fluff them up in between passes. After a job, you can then wash them with warm water, then put it back on the buffer and really crank up the buffer and fling all the water out. It works pretty good! m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnvbY4OOfJ2Ji5Y

@@DrakesDetailing thanks for your reply. I have a confession. While I was curious to hear your method. This is how I clean that nasty buildup. As well as all other water line and below. We have a stamped out like Pennie’s, Bayliner Capri 185. With a MerCruiser alpha one out drive. Powered by a 200 horsepower Chevrolet 4.3 liter V6. From 2001 until present. I get some heavy rubber gloves. The blue 3M non scratch scrubby pads. Then I grab a gallon of muriatic acid. It magically eats all the stuff I want gone. Leaving nothing but a brand new,shiny finish. I don’t know the science of it. But it doesn’t seem to hurt anything! The stickers still come out like new! The only problem I’ve ever had? When I used some crappy thin gloves and tore them and got that stuff on my hand. And the time I did it with the boat in the garage without enough ventilation. You don’t want to be breathing this stuff.
