I haven't heard the word 'Duff' for a long time, nor have I cooked bake and salt fish for ages. My boys don't like the smell when I am steaming salted fish. Duff and dumplings are two different things in Guyana they are not the same thing or interchangeable Duff was originally cooked in methem. We also have Dumplings are small and you put it in soup. Its similar to British and new England dumplings. Someone in the last few years started saying or wrote dull / dumpling to explain to people that it was like a dumpling. But its causing confusion as we have both of these things and they are actually different things Duff rise Dumplings dont really rise, or rise very little. If its big and more fluff and it rises...its duff
