There are many Trinidadian people on social media cooking,but your food is so tasty(I’ve made a couple of your dishes,and I don’t cook without that green seasoning!) and you put your whole heart in your cooking, and sharing in your memories of watching your mom and other family members cook. Hi Maria, if you notice she is of Indian Origin the names she uses Channa, Dhal all are Indian. She is of Indian Origin settled in Trinidad.

You do realise "the internet" is people right? "People" make the wrong people popular by engaging with low quality content. KZbin is not the same playground it once was for sure but if good quality was the marker then this & my photography channel would be millions deep.

@@rajeshboysie861 good point you know...I never really thought of it... Doubles taste is not about curry....maybe people confuse the color of the channa..but I was never really sure how the traditional recipe was ..

Touché! This is similar to what we call 'Ragda' here in Mumbai , made with a similar non-currying process, except with white peas. Currying puts a oily, spicy filter on that distinct , subtle legume flavour, that is preserved with this simple pressure cook-simmering process.

I love doubles so much! It is the best street food ever. Doubles is made out of fry flatbread called bars and channa. You can enjoy it with red pepper, chutney etc. I am so proud to be a Trini! 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹

I've seen it, eaten it, and sometimes eat it nowadays, but this one is the best. Mouth watering, deliciously looking, not forgetting the cucumber source, and pepper. Baby, you're the greatest. Even Ralph Cramdon will love ❤️ it too.

Trinidad has some indian population & a very strong indian culinary influence. Amazing to know, they make chicken currys also with coconut milk and indian spice mix

We hardly use coconut in our curries, and here we say "curry chicken" or "curry whatever", "curry " always comes first 😅

@triniqnb4 I still use the baking soda too but some people like their bara more on the yellow side so I gave them another option. You can add both together because the bara ends up pink lol
