Making these again for our veggie dogs. I tweak it a bit (less oil, a bit of honey instead of sugar). They were great the first time. We never want to buy the buns again after eating these! So delish. Thank you! Luv your hearty laugh.

Came here to figure out how to shape the hot dogs better. Our bread recipe is also super soft using Greek yogurt with no raise time which is great if you’re in a hurry. Due to egg allergies we have altered many recipes and keep on experimenting. I liked your recipe and am going to add it to our list, egg free of course. Hope the buns aren’t too pale. Cross those fingers for us! Thank you for the detailed description. Im not a veteran bread maker by any means.

I've made hot dog buns in the past, but was never happy with the softness. That all changed today after following your great video and recipe. I needed a little bit bigger bun, so I divided the dough into nine 100 gram balls. They are the perfect size for those long hot dogs that Costco sells. They could also serve as a nice size for a small sub sandwich. The dough was very easy to work with and this will be my go to recipe for hamburger buns and dinner rolls. Thanks for making this video!

About the only thing I go to McAllen for LOL Wish they had a Costco closer to Brownsville!! I did shape them a little different... I did a small pre-shape log and then rolled them out like a small baguette to the 8" and puffed them up. A little egg wash and OH MAN!! Costco dogs for lunch today!!!

could you share the link for the perfect hamburger buns
@islandgal500 Жыл бұрын
@@snugglemouse38 Chef John from Food Wishes (Hamburger Buns - How to Make Homemade Burger Buns). They work even if you change it up a bit by not adding the sesame seeds or even shortening the rise time when I am in a hurry. The reason I like them is that they are dense so they hold up without falling apart in your hands when you are eating. I often toast them and put in a fried egg for breakfast and make some buns smaller and some larger for different things (so make 8 often). I have a KitchenAid mixer but lately have been throwing everything in my bread machine to mix, proof for 1.5 hours, shape and coat tops with butter, then proof for another 2 hours, and then bake. It is a very forgiving recipe.

I think this would be a better recipe for hamburger buns than the one I did a year ago. We have several good sources of great sausages and hot dogs in Texas too.
