These podcasts are great giving more context to everything more understanding than a 5 minute video 🎉

I’m so glad this information came out and that others have been seeing the same thing when strictly speaking about scalation. Also funny how you mention the term “soft” can be confusing cause I’ve always said they kinda look like they have goosebumps 😂lol

Nicholetta is a 👑🧠 This has been so helpful to me, because my het "soft scale" is really soft, but I had no idea how to test if he is actually a "soft scale". Now I can start by magnifying the head scales. Thank you!

Amazing guys !!! Boy I wish I could show off my stuff now 😂😂😂 my first gecko was a softscale , Iv just started making softscale lily’s . They truly are gorgeous! I’m glad someone else noticed the lack of tigering in the super softs , there’s zero evidence of tigering on my super soft stuff ..😬🤷🏻♂️

Soooo there’s no visual hets right ? Like the lily gene ? Its there or its not ? I think I understand but I could just be confused , I’m definitely not trying to go against the grain , at alllll . But I have geckos that are obviously super soft and geckos that aren’t , to me personally, I can tell after the first shed if they have it or they don’t 😬🤷🏻♂️ I kind of fell into the gene by accident. I had geckos that had soft scale but didn’t know it was a trait 🤷🏻♂️ I would always just say that they almost look scaless ! I’m not sure how to explain what I saw , but it was noticeably different from the beginning 🤷🏻♂️ so after my first season and looking at all the hatchlings and watching this and reading what I can find . I now know what’s going on …. In my Collection at least 🙏🏻🦾

Are there any plans to test the data sets for significance?

Hey tiki how do I keep my crested geckos warm? It’s cold upstate!
@horizoncrestedgeckos Жыл бұрын
Heat the room the gecko is in or use a ceramic heat emitter on a thermostat to regulate the heat to avoid cooking your gecko

Do you keep your house in the 70s? If so it should be fine. I added a little heat mat that I stuck to the outside of my tank and it warms the glass. I see the geckos warming themselves on that spot but you don’t run the risk of making that tank too hot which is a bigger danger than cold
@qa377 Жыл бұрын
@@WisdomCallsI hang a heat mat over the side of the tank - I don't even stick it to the glass just in case they sit on it too long. (I've tested the temperature and the 5-7w heat mats average 90-95F, but if you hang them ~1-2cm from the glass, it makes the glass a max of 80F in the inside)
@kyleheinz6785 Жыл бұрын
Small amount of heat. I’d start with like a 50w heat. Buy a heat gun/temp thermometer gauge and monitor heat. Shouldn’t be over 80’.
