From what I’ve seen of the Super Soft interaction with the super stripe, it makes the dorsal scales in the stripe wider and flatter adding depth to those stripes making it look like a thicker white.

The super soft interaction makes the combos look killer! The drab coloration of the EB gene leave the breeder wanting more for what patterning is left over and softscale and super Softscale enhances all those colors that are still there.

@@AnthonyVasquezEndZz yeah my yellow super soft is extremely vibrant. The whites on the dorsal and lateral are paper white and the contrast of the dark and yellow tigering along with that is really cool. Was able to reproduce it in a couple babies last year.

So I have two pairs where it seemed like both parents were supers... but none of the babies were super. So in each pair, at least one must be a dark phantom with pinstriping. It's quite hard to tell! I'm surprised you didn't show any phantoms with white pinstripes, because they can look just like empty back... and even could be, but you don't know until you breed them out. Then, you get to axanthic... axanthic het eb or eb, how would you be able to tell? Phantom axanthic with pinstriping? Would love to hear about that!

With super stripe being recessive, essentially all the hatchlings would be 100% het for super stripe, even in hatchlings that don’t get the EB. All the EB is doing is allowing you to see the het markers, but it doesn’t mean it’s not there. So in theory if you had a 100% het super stripe that’s non EB and you bred it to a “super” EB you should come out with visual Super Stripes. I know there are many recessive’s in Ball Pythons that will show het markers when another gene is present. The only thing that I find super weird is that it needs the EB to be visual in it’s super form.

What I have a hard time seeing is people just labeling “het eb” My male with a pretty solid (non empty back) dorsum tends to make his kids with decreased back pattern as well but when that happens it basically gives the same vibe as het eb’s would so at what point is what happening? Basically what is the difference between seeing het eb vs geckos with decreasing pattern?☺️

I know I’ll get shit for this , but what’s the difference between EB and super stripe ? 😬🤷🏻‍♂️ EB’s pattern or lack of is isolated to just the dorsal …? Super stripe is ….? No pattern All the way to the crest without the “v” at the neck ? I’m sooooo dam confused. 🤦‍♂️

I feel like Jessica probably has the best eye out of the four of you at identifying which is which of these phenotype The term I believe is a very powerful term especially in situations like this where there is no solid concrete answers, most stuff is based on personal research and opinions.
