I clean the threads and brush anti-seize on them, then work it in and wipe off the excess. It lasts for years, even hanging on the vehicle WD-40 is great, but you have to put it on every few rain storms it seems like.

That's a great idea. Never thought of that, but grabbing the anti-seize now, haha.

Thanks - what's the difference between a kinetic rope and a snatch strap - are they used for the same thing?

Hey Peter, they’re similar but different. A snatch strap won’t have as much give as a kinetic rope. Matt’s Offroad recovery did a short little video that helps show the difference if it helps. Here’s that vid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5qsiYxvd9V-rdksi=YxooFffy4N42kGHE

what if you don't have a winch? Are these still a way to get you unstuck or out of a hole? It would be great to see a video on this. Also I don't have a after market bumper just original on my Promaster van. I have a ring under front bumper.

Yep, you would still use these for recovery straps or kinetic ropes with another vehicle yanking you out. Shackles are pretty much used in almost all recoveries with or without a winch.
