Softail Slim S with new Rinehart 2 into 1 exhaust!

Nice weather in NJ so I did a quick walk around of my Softail Slim S with the new Rinehart 2 into 1 exhaust. I'm loving this bike. She pulls hard in all 6 gears and is a blast from red light to red light. Now she sounds the part too.

big question, I have a slim S also, right now stock exhaust and am thinking about your exhaust from Rinehart. My question: near the transmission cover, I heard that one of the exhaust heat shield clamps has to be omitted, since the clamp hits up against the transmission cover, is this true??? please let me know what the hardest part of the install was?? it couldnt have been that easy!! thanks for your help!!

I fit a shotgun straight pipe medium length to my Olive Gold Denim Softtail Slim S (sort of similar look of the Bassani). It's a bit louder than I can accept. Previously I tested a Vance and Hine 2 into 1 that was way too loud, pinging in the ears. I think this Rinehart 2-1 sounds muffled and maybe a choice I should look into.

I would not say the Rinehart is muffled, more so a deep tone which is not as apparent or loud as the others. No pinging but definitely a nice rumbly sound. I like it and I wish you luck in your decision.

Michael Samman Thank you sir. I will definitely look into it, and a full length VH shotgun with baffles. I like loud but when it's too loud it actually makes long trips tiring. Not to mention I definitely annoyed or shocked people at the side of the road under hard acceleration.

sorry i don't mean muffled like a muffler. My English is not that perfect. I think the tail pipe has carefully designed baffles (is that a right word?) that doesn't produce the annoying explosive braps compare to 2-2 that are basically straight pipes. And medium length makes the 2-2 straight pipes worse. Fun when just get it, but not for the long term.

Where did you order the extended shifter and brake pedals from? I have a 23 heritage and I can’t seem to find anybody that has the longer heel shifter

I ordered the extended pieces directly from Harley and had them installed before I picked up the bike back in 2016. Really makes the ride more comfortable.

what company offers the "extended" shifter set on your bike? mine protrude outboard above the foot rest interfering with positioning of my foot in shifting...yours appear to be well inside the foot rest

Yes, I had her tuned using the Screamin Eagle Super Tuner Pro. She rides great!

I did not have to move the passenger foot peg. Bolt on and tune.

Mind to share your thoughts with the low clearance? How bad is it? Have you done anything about it?

Due to my riding style I have had no issues at all with the low clearance. I ride it daily and I always go into corners at a safe speed. I have yet to scrape the floor boards. I do enjoy hitting the throttle hard and open it up on the highway, the 110 delivers in that area. That said I'm sure if you take it into the twisties hard and try riding it like a canyon carver your going to scrape and have issues with he low height. Hope that helps! Being aware of the limited clearance at corners, it may help the rider ride safely in this way. Thanks for the comments. Again, this Rinehart looks good (inheriting the long stock pipe style) and sounds good (throaty but not overly loud). That'll be my choice as well. Ride safe and happy holidays!

On a scale of 1-10, how loud would you say these pipes are, both for idle and highway? I just bought a '16 Dyna Lowrider S, and I want to upgrade the exhaust, but I don't want something too loud.

Idle = 7 and highway = 8. The tone is full and not raspy and when you give it throttle it sounds loud enough to get someone's attention but not too loud.

A set of Vance and Hines long shots would have sounded better. Put them on my Slim S, sounds awesome. Bike still looks and sounds good.

I did a lot of shopping around before I went for the Rinehart system. I thought the sound of the Vance and Hines long shots was nice but not nice enough for my taste and sound is all about preference, right?

I had the Vance & Hines big shots on my fat boy S , they were too loud in my ear for all day riding . So I went to rinehart 2into1 like you. I also like the deeper tone. I'll give someone a good deal on v&h big shots.

No problems at all with the oil lines and the rear header, not so much as a hic up. She is rock steady and runs like a beast.
