Great video Dave!! Absolutely perfect for beginners... or noob softbaiters like myself

Cheers bro, after I figured out this method was good for first timers I thought I had to share it

Thanks for sharing your great knowledge and tips. Nice to know that I'm not the only one who adopts the dragging technique most of the time!
@FishoDavo2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, yeah dragging has always worked better for me, and a great way to teach beginners. If i find the right territory like a fishy looking reef then I'd use the cast forward method

Nice tutorial mate, I am new to fishing, I followed all the techniques you taught but still got nothing, very frustrated. could you also make some videos about how to find a good fishing spot? I am also in AKL, but not quite experienced with fishing locations at all

@@FishoDavo I fish on jet ski, last time I went to the noises but didn’t get any😂

@junz4872 should be OK fishing around there, I find 5inch softbaits in curly tail style works best for me. 8-12m with 3/8oz jighead

Great vid. Thanks for posting. What size clips are you using?
@FishoDavo2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, I use size 0 for softbaiting. Size 00 for Ajing, size 1 for Super Light Jigging
@hiltonjohnson2 жыл бұрын
Fantastic content Dave, and such a great way to impart knowledge. I've found that this technique works really well for Snapper. Do you have subtle variations to this if targeting Trevally, for instance? Thinking pelagics in particular.
@FishoDavo2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your kind comments, I haven't learnt how to catch Trevally on softbait yet, but if you check out Glen Cox (GC Jetski Fishing) youtube channel, he succesfully targets trevally on softbait a lot

Whats the idea behind the green bead??
@FishoDavo2 жыл бұрын
To protect the rod tip from the clip
@joedennehy386 Жыл бұрын
If i may say so, casting ahead of the drift with lighter jigheads catches way bigger fish, the longer it takes to reach the bottom the better. Each to their own but 4 legal fish in 4 man hours fishing says a bit. Clips and beads dont help either. Your leader looks heavy, 15 lb fluorocarbon? Hope you dont mind the comments, good luck.
@FishoDavo Жыл бұрын
Yup I agree with you, I do cast forward softbaiting too. This was more aimed at new comers to softbaiting
