I play sports games to be a player and pretend I’m in the league lol, so I want it to be as realistic and detailed as possible. EA doesn’t care about that anymore though. It’s all about manipulating children into spending their parents money on card packs to get better, instead of just making an all around good game and inspiring people to want to play more to get better.

From the future, tried the early access, that shit trash😂, still tryna find its “potential”, cause I like the tackling animations only cause it’s realistic but the impact and fluidity of everything is trash, like almost unplayable.

Something I became aware of is that the online "servers" are not servers at all. A player has to be the host and acts as the server and other players connect to that player. This means means online play basically can't be fair. The host always has 0 ping, while the player connected does not, giving the host an advantage. It also means if the host has a bad PC and/or bad internet it will be terribly unsmooth as their pc struggles to run the server and play the game at the same time. Also opens up tons of issues in terms of potential hacking. I play sports game for the online aspect and I can't take it seriously given they're not using dedicated servers. It's very much a short cut on the devs part.

Since it's in early access, the P2P model they're using is the fastest way to set up some form of online multiplayer as dedicated servers cost money to maintain. I'd like to think most likely once the game is out of Early Access MPL will move to dedicated servers (where there's a level of authority not tied to either player) and the head to head online gameplay (which doesn't exist yet as of this comment) move to a P2P model which is a lot more suitable for that type of game mode

I’ve already put in a solid 40+ hours on this game. So if you want someone else’s prospective: Yes the offline does run smoother and more fluent than online. However outside of one of the 10+ online games I’ve played there wasn’t much lag. Running with the ball in your hand is AMAZING in this game. AI blocking is pretty good with the exception of blow pass blocks on rare occasions. Passing is the area of this game I would like to see more improvement. It’s not unusable, but is a little clunky and can be difficult to complete passes. Running with the QB I think is a little too good. In this games current state it is extreme run meta. I will say defense plays pretty decent and there are some ways to counter all the running. Player models and customization are great and some of the best features outside of the gameplay. 1000% worth trying for FREE! I think it’s already better than Madden in some areas and is a couple good updates away from being a very strong competitor

Is it flawed? Yes. Only because it's in it's first iteration. I think this game will eventually surpass all Madden games in play-ability. It already surpassed them in mod ability alone. GGs bro. I was the Pandas. Someone told me yesterday that it said my ping was bad. I honestly have no idea how. I'm on a wired connection and everything appears stable if I do a speed test. I wonder what server locations do they use. There's a lot of bugs that need to be worked out and also the defense feels like the Souls-Like of football. There are NUMEROUS times that the defense will block punts and field goals. It makes it almost not worth trying to punt away on 4th down.

The free-to-play base game is like a demo. If you enjoy it enough and want to tip the devs, you can pay for extras. If you want to do that but can't afford it in the meantime, you have a tie-over until you can. If you don't like it, you don't have to pay anything. I like this honest and flexible model, and looks like they're getting somewhere. The other day they said they're patching in an instant victory against online ragequitters. They're even aware about their passing/catching system flaws. It'll probably be even better a year from now.

There is still some issues that made me enjoy the game a bit less. - As you already mentioned the passing game is awkward and in my experience as is right now the only way I could make a pass play is to chuck it deep. If I try playing level route and toss the ball on the side or throw less than 10-15 yards forward the ball would flung way too high and the defense would already crowd my receiver by the time the ball comes down. I just opted to do run plays most of the time and only did pass play when it is absolutely necessary to do it. - There is no clock management plays (take a knee, spike the ball) and onside kick. I already posted these issues on the Discussion page of the game and the dev said that they will be added in the future once the basic mechanisms of the game ironed out. In case of the latter though they stated onside kick was in the game before they deactivated it due to issues it caused before Early Access. - While it certainly made the game looks incredibly pretty, the decision to use Unreal Engine 5 as of right now is bad. The game is poorly optimized even in my decently powerful PC of mine and there are serious lack of graphic options (seriously I never liked DoF but this game is chock full of it), at times it can get too smeary I had to stop for a bit and rest my eyes, in addition to the game occasionally crashed whenever I Alt+Tab. But I won't lie, considering this is only the 2nd ever football game I played in my life (me being not American) this is a fun game despite all the aforementioned issues, I had spent quite decent amount of time just playing with CPU and I never felt frustrated even once. This game has a solid foundation and I sincerely hope that this will become a true solid football game that PC players like me have always dreamed of.

The one reason I support yearly releases for an independent sports game, especially at this time, is allows them to grow. It's a bit like early access, but hopefully not _that_ bad. just not as feature complete as its competitors for now. Its takes years worth of time to develop all those features from scratch, hence why so many of the first sports games on the 3rd gen and then again on the 4th gen of consoles sucked SO much. rebuilding process.

I have had a good amount of fun with this game but it definitely is pretty rough right now. I like where it's headed, but hopefully it won't take *too* long to reach a better standard. Outside of the obvious, like making passing consistent, and the gameplay flow a little bit more smoothly, I hope they also add things like a coach mode and actual clock management, and fix the buggy stats. My team went 13-0, won the championship after a 5 year rebuild, but my QB barely passed for 2000 yards and my best HB had 500 rushing yards.

I downloaded it last week but haven't touch it yet. It's good to know to stay away from online mode. Because I'm a 2K fan and went so many years w/o playing I'm in no rush. The college game got my juices flowing again but it's not on PC and I refuse to buy Madden. I played it earlier this year and it was okay it just felt a couple cans short of a six pack. I 'm not much of a stat guy so I may stay on the free version for now.

The key to this game is gonna be consistent improvement. I realized with madden the most frustrating thing is the lack of improvement despite complaints every year. Madden 25 is the first madden I’ve got to actually play since 2019. I’m not gonna lie as a long time madden player as a young kid(madden 12 was my first madden) the revamped passing is a game changer for me makes offense lots of fun to play. and makes me feel in control. Nevertheless. The UI and franchise feels identical if not worse than when I played before. so disappointing we usually complain about maddens gameplay and while it’s lacking the game would suffice if they literally did simple shit like make franchise mode playable and added decent presentation. this game will be amazing if they just simply improve every year. Madden is the only game I know of that updates and gets way worse. LETS GO MAXIMUM FOOTBALL

My main issue with football games is the AI of blocking and awareness of defensive backs against passes. If they can do that, along with some cool statistics for all-time/season highs/stat sheets for all players each season over a course of 20 years, it'll be better than Madden.
