I think they don't want to because they don't want to commit the resources just for people to not buy it because it's not licensed. To be honest I would definitely take the game you're proposing. Just add in some really cool customization options. Create a football world that has it's own stars, maybe do some "fake" ads with those players on the 2K website or the page for the game and help people get acclimated to the players. That would make it interesting. The problem these smaller studios have had trying to make football games is they don't have the budgets to make their leagues come to life. You need to do the work with promotion and advertising to bring people to it.

expectation vs reality, 2ks supercard games are good, but better when they have aa console counterpart, the nba supercard ties into myteam, and the wwe supercard has been around for over a decade, BUT the nhl one even despite a decent player base didnt live because even thouogh it's just a classic supercard game they couldnt tie it into a console version leaving replayability a littte iffy, it got taken down either due to liscensing or because of the replayability... i imagine the nfl one will have a similar life cycle to the nhl one, BUT to call a supercard game bad, because youre expectations were too high isnt really fair imo being that again some of them last a decade plus and are relatively good for mobile games

It’s THE PEOPLE that are making the game that counts! Everything from the designer, coder, artist and sound takes a team. The people at these companies are not the same people from years ago. It doesn’t matter if the “Exclusive license” will no longer exist. It takes a great team of people from the top to bottom to make a phenomenal game. If/when that time comes just remember that it’s the team of PEOPLE that made it happen and whatever company makes that happen better do their best to keep those people happy, well paid and retain them. Unfortunately, a lot of companies don’t do that. Love your videos! Keep up the great work.

While part of me is infuriated that there isn't a good football game with a community creations suite, and I will forever hate EA for the exclusive license nonsense, I am so thankful for emulation. Madden should re-release some older game like 07’ with current rosters and commentary. I rather have those graphics but gameplay than what we have now.

Is there any reason you have never done a deep dive on Madden 2003(ps2)? Many people agree it's one of the most underrated Madden's of all time because the games immediately after it weren't bad and introduced the playmaker(04) and the hitstick(05) but both of those new modes were unpolished as it was their first year attempting it. B/c of that, many people feel 2003 was much more fluid and reactive. Franchise mode was super deep and had an amazing player progression/regression model.

Yeah people are being too hard on this, it looks lime a fun time waster for mobile. Perhaps the most advanced you can make a football game on mobile is Retro Bowl. 2K isn't gonna give you All Pro 2k8 on mobile, what were people expecting? A proper console footy game will need at least 3 years dev time.

2K made a NFL gacha card battler that isn't a good card battler and is just pre-recorded scenes. There is no reason to sugar-coat anything or they to be nice about what they released.

At this point, where is Tecmo? Give them the NFL license so we can get a good arcade football game. Tecmo Superbowl and Tecmo Superbowl 3 were amazing games, so if 2K, can't maybe someone else can.

You need to remember that 2k has changed, the studio known for 2k5 and APF is long gone. When you compare Playmakers to what 2k is actually doing within the sports game space, this makes way more sense. We're not getting a quality simulation football game from 2k ever again.

if you know 2k you know they make these mobile games, this isnt at all meant to be a revival of nfl 2k, they did the same thing with nhl supercard despite at that time being probably half a decade out of their last nhl game. if its anything like the last time they made a supercard game with a league ea has major rights to (nhl supercard) it will be comparable to wwe supercard (the original game like this going a decade strong) but WILL be taken down within 5 years. if you expected a simulation game like madden of course youre dissapointed, itd be like getting clash royale and expecting clash of clans, theyre not meant to be the same game nor are they advertised to be.

Yeah and theres some plays on this game were you either always get tackled at the line of scrimmage or pass plays were your qb intentionally throws the ball over the recevier thats right in front of them

I wonder if the product was rushed out before it was fully developed so the NFL has content they probably weren't to happy about 2k waiting so long they will most likely take their sweet time trying to make console good to fall back on later this year or next year.
