The reason for the high ratings are due to the fact that EA and Sega Sports used different scales; the 2k series went off of players real life 40, 3 cone drill, 225 bench press reps, and vertical to attribute physical skills, as well as average veloicity to determine pass strength, so EA just did things based off the eye test, which is why everyone is rated so much higher.
