Great video Garath, it's exciting to see Softr rolling out new features and becoming even more powerful than it already is.

Great video. I built a CRM using Stacker. In comparing Stacker to Softr, It seems like Stacker handles forms and automatically assigning tasks to projects in a more elegant way without using hidden form fields and typing in URL parameters, etc Would you agree? Do you find that Softr's other features and look & feel make switching from Stacker worth it?

For me, I'm using Softr more for my own projects, and client projects. However I still think both tools have strong uses and features. I think it comes down to preference and specific use-case

Quick Question: The button on the Project page which opens the page to add a task, what is the setting which includes the recordid in the URL? When I have tried to replicate this - the button simply opens the form with out any recordid in the URL.

Hi Richard, I think you may be struggling with the URL parameter area of the form. Please check this for reference and let me know if you're still stuck: docs.softr.io/building-blocks/form/custom-form#5.-url-parameters

@@GarethPronovost Thanks for the reply Gareth. I have replicated the example you give in the video. The route I would like to go is: A page with a list of contacts - click on a contact and goto a page with all the detail of that contact. When I have created this the recordid of the contact is with in the URL - as per your example. What I would like to do is go from that second page to a third page with has a list block of records related to the contact for example from a table of communications sent to them. When I try to set up this second step the recordid does not get carried over and the second page opens at a random record rather than the same record selected in the first step. In other words it works for the first step but when I want to open another page with information about that same contact, it does not seem to work. It is tricky to explain with being able to demo the problem, if you can follow what I am trying to do and can see where I am getting it wrong I would be very grateful for any pointers to find a solution. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for this! You mentioned Softr can replicate Typeform surveys - but I didn't see that option. Is that custom CSS to get it to behave like a Typeform?
@GarethPronovost2 жыл бұрын
Happy to help! In what regard do you want it to behave like typeform? Are you referring to the user interface?
@TrishaGoodall2 жыл бұрын
@@GarethPronovost Thanks! I'm referring to the user experience of Typeform. Typeform is beautiful and pleasant, and goes one question at a time, as opposed to a form that is all on one screen. Softr forms that I see "get the job done", but they're not as visually appealing to the user as Typeform. Not sure if this is something that can be done with CSS or other in Softr?
@GarethPronovost2 жыл бұрын
@@TrishaGoodall ah, great question. To the best of my knowledge this is not yet possible with Softr, but as you say it may be possible with CSS. I'd recommend reaching out to Softr directly to see if they have any available code for this, but personally I wouldn't expect it. 🤞

Is there a way for users to click on stars in the form to give ratings?
@GarethPronovost2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Softr allows for a ratings field to be added to a form!

Did this disappear from Softr? I can't seem to find Custom forms in Softr's interface. Looks very different from your screen :(
@GarethPronovost2 жыл бұрын
This feature is still available. When adding a form, look to the right of the screen and select Dynamic (not Static). The form option is under that subheader now

Is there a way to limit the response for the Softr forms? and How?
@PositivitysDust2 жыл бұрын
limit per user client i mean.
@GarethPronovost2 жыл бұрын
Limit the number of responses a user can submit? It should be possible by counting the number of form submissions submitted by each user. Then set a condition on your form block that it's only visible if the logged in user has a count less than X

This isn’t how softr appears currently. I think they’ve removed this functionality within their forms
@GarethPronovost5 ай бұрын
They've upgraded this feature since we published this video, but it functions similarly!
