I'd like to know the third party support it has. I can't warrant spending this much on it at the moment as I will only be able to afford a very few softube plugins. But, if it can support third party plugins then it would be worth it right now.
@sm5574 Жыл бұрын
You should google that. I think I remember reading that you can map this as a standard control surface (but you may have to give up the built-in functionality to do so).
@damianoakes2592 Жыл бұрын
I have a Console 1 mk.II, and the way I use it is as a midi controller for most of my plugins, because it only allows you to use Softube and UAD plugins with the built-in software. The way you do that is you just disable the on-screen display (go into your computer's settings to stop it running at startup), which makes it run in midi mode, and then you just assign the buttons and knobs as you would any other controller. The only sacrifice you make is you can't use it as a DAW controller(so no faders or pan-pots), which you can with the software, and you have to have the plugin you're controlling in focus. All that being said, the Console 1 software does come with an SSL 4000E channel strip included, so even running it as intended with no add-ons, it's still extremely useful!

@@damianoakes2592 This is why I'm asking... this is the MK3 and this was a common complaint with the mk2 that it could only control softube and UAD plugins... with the massive price increase it would only be worth it to me if they had added third party plugin control for now. These replies you can go put on anyone asking about MK2 and below... this has no value for answering the question to the new mk3... there have been many other channels talking about it before it's released saying this very same thing. If I had a whole library of softube or UAD plugins, it might be worth it... but not if I am only going to have some basic channel strips... if I only wanted the SSL cannel strip I'd get the SSL UC1 for less

Unfortunately, the people at Softube do not listen to clients or their potential clients, I asked them and suggested a long time ago, their Console One will be valuable only when they allow the owners of a Console One to choose which plugin to use in it (from the brand whatever, there is no technological impediment to it, I told you and I demonstrated). In my case, since I did not like the "monopoly" that SSL also intended, I also told them about it, and they were more receptive to the opinions of their clients, they recently opened their UC1 so that each one can choose which plugin they like best; They understood that what they are selling is a mere controller, and not a monopoly/slavery as Softube intends with Console One. Luckily I did not buy either of the two before; Now yes, I'm going to buy the SSL UC1, because it gives me freedom, I can even load some Softube plugins if I like one.... For me, that's what it is, a mere controller, not a Trojan horse. ..
@mixbustv6 ай бұрын
You post this right when Console 1 controls both UAD and Fab Filter plugins? You couldn't have picked a worst moment to complain about what is actually untrue. Not only that, but you understand that companies have to agree for their plugins to be ported to a system like this right? Just like Avid has to agree for full integration. So, say this to the companies you want to use their plugins on C1 on. Softube would (and did) very much embrace all of them because that would mean more sales for them.

This is not to fight, I hope, I'm not interested, I don't have time for that David,... It's my simple experience (valid as yours and that of everyone who reads this); Even so, if brand I don't miss it, like all of us who are here, I imagine, that this instance (your mixbustv channel) is just to have fun and share experiences between people who like the same thing; then what each person defines as the sound (controller (knobs) that they like, is each person's decision... And there, without being offensive, or t-shirts, we can have healthy fun and respectfully share experiences for some time, if not, all We turn it into a displeasure, into meaningless fights. Fortunately, as a consumer and taxpayer, I have the freedom to choose what I like and what I don't, and to respectfully give my opinion on what seems good, better or worse, and what No, without being offensive. That said, there are plugin drivers and plugins that I find more useful than others... The only benefit of this is being able to share user experiences of all these things, of free people, who do not depend on the brand. any, but the pleasure of sound,.... Everyone chooses freely, that's why KZbin was invented too!!!; now, if you can't speak freely on this channel, I'm the wrong one, and I'm leaving without problem. I don't forget that, for me, there is no holy grail in psychoacoustics (that's the fun part), and my intention is just to share experiences, to hopefully help people I don't even know,... Simple, I don't defend them. no brand or sound style, everyone chooses and shares their experiences without being offensive or owner of the absolute truth (starting with me) with the aim of helping. A hug, PD1. And if something bothered you, my apologies, because the last thing I'm interested in is screwing anyone, not a person, not a company,... PS2. I hope we share experiences about this healthy and fun game that is sound, nothing serious!!!!

Actually, "real" hardware sucks in the long run, because the sound changes and you need to maintain it. Whether touchable knobs are beneficial or not is another discussion, but IF there is value to touching knobs, software controllers are superior to "real" hardware in most ways - objectively.
@444Inlakesh Жыл бұрын
@@akagerhard not true by the time the hardware degrades, you've already gone through multiple computers, software updates, etc, when you're dealing with solid state, the analog sonics are actually desired, you could have a 40-year-old SSL mix modern tracks still. @akagerhard Жыл бұрын
@@444Inlakeshyou don't have to go through multiple computers, unless you want to upgrade. You can still run 10 year old versions of plugins on 10 year old computers and they will never stop to work, unless the computer stops to work. The same is true for controller compatibility with the computer. If you want to upgrade your hardware substantially, that's a whole different beast. A brand new highend computer costs less than let's say a CL1B compressor. Maintenance of a console alone for "40 years" costs more than buying a new computer and the newest controller regularly. Why you are starting to talk about sample rates in this context is beyond me. The only place left in music production where analog equipment has SOME benefit is recording in production stage, due to the "zero" latency processing and monitoring. So even if you are a high-end production studio you only "need" a choice of good pre-amps and a compressor. In Hip Hop that's usually a neve clone and the CL1B. But argueably, even that is more for the prestige and not really a must-have due to DSP processing and close to "zero"-latency with RME interfaces (or UAD as long as you stay in their eco system). Some of the biggest producers and mixers on the planet are completely or mostly in the box. They are usually hybrid simply in order to have controllers. These people know what they are doing. They are not sacrificing sound. Digital won. It's best for workflow, budget, collaboration, portability - everything. Believe me, nobody can tell whether a song was produced analog or digital (as long as the analog hardware is not very bad). But you can choose to stay ignorant and believe in your little stories. I won't bother enlightening you twice.
