I am so sorry! I did not even realize how many views this video got, or that all of you were commenting and ask me questions. I took a bit of a hiatus, but I’m back now and actually turning in a project tomorrow and studying for another exam so I will be back up and making videos about my progress soon!

finished the BS in SD from WGU about a year ago. The degree sucks until you get to good stuff like SQL, JAVA development, Android development and C++ was not as fun but better than the other web courses The Java 2 project was at least 2.5k lines long and had to use persistent storage and many other requirements , was a huge learning curve. It was one of the classes that took me the longest to complete. About 7 weeks Like many, i just wanted a degree but also wanted to learn something new at the same time . The CS degree was my first choice but the math alone would have added at least a year to complete. Instead I completed the entire thing in 9 months, well i did have an associates degree so not really the entire thing I recommend !

NO I have been working as a Network Engineer for nearly 20 years but have shifted towards network automation lately . I have not used java since i finished the degree. I use python pretty much daily but nothing very advanced I am trying to get a junior software dev job but hard to let go of my senior net engineer job / pay so Eventually I want to shift completely to software but no rush

Update: I did get cleared to start. Now waiting on orientation. Been researching WGU for a while and stumbled upon your channel. I decided to enroll in WGU. I’m planning on starting 11/1. I’m just waiting to be cleared to start and for my financial aid to process. I decided on the BS in Software Development too. I’m interested in creating games and I like creating websites. Hoping you post more videos on your progress soon.

@@econnak7909 so sadly it got pushed back to October so ill be starting soon. Education wise I have experience going to a local community College that was good but then I joined the military and got some experience from there which helped before applying to WGU. For example to get my job I had to pass security plus. Work wise in the military I've been gaining a lot of experience in a wide range of network support, cyber security, to being a technicians getting hands on and helping customers. Which I'm sure that overall experience will help with my understanding of the material once I start to dive into it.

But I do have experience with game engines and I work QA for Facebook which hopefully I can get admitted into the program. I really only want to join for more knowledge on everything around software development, thanks for the chat.

Actually, I believe competency is a 3.0 level, so a" B" letter grade. That is what I believe I read when I started at WGU. Just sharing.
