I was Sam’s roommate in California and went to New Mexico with her and her ex husband. She was constantly battling the demons in her and sometimes those demons would get control. I had to leave. Couldn’t handle it. I hope she’s conquered those demons. There’s a light in her that so desperately wants to escape to the surface. I hope she made a path for that light.

@@samanthahaynes5289 You are a survivor, so strong and bright. I feel you are suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, I know because I suffer also. It took finding a psychiatrist I trusted, oddly one no one else liked because he himself had Asperger's and didn't make much eye contact nor offer sugared words and fake sentiment. I trusted him and let him prescribe anti-anxiety/anti-depressant/mood disorder and medications to help with substance cravings. It took time to find the right combos for my biology, weeding out ones that had non-subsiding side effects and time for my body to adjust to the ones that eventually worked. I am so grateful for these meds- my days are as colorful, my mind is as creative as if I weren't medicated but I'm 'more' stable emotionally and mentally. I will have to work on myself for the rest of my life but I'm grateful for self-actualization and knowing I can always be better but to forgive and be good to myself also. I hope soooo much for you that you can make the path you need to getting well. Before something really bad happens to you.. You are such an amazing woman with so much to offer! There is no doubt a purpose you are meant to fulfill you just need to find someone (a doctor) you can trust and give meds a chance. I work with military Veterans with PTSD, and like many of them, you have been to battle and back many times. Your brain emits chemicals that have enabled you to survive your traumas but they don't just go back to 'comfortable, livable' proportions when you are out of danger... that's what meds will help you with. I promise the light at the end of the journey is sooo worth the work. You deserve inner peace and to find your true path in life 🕉⛈⛅☀💜

I raised an adopted child. I could tell that she did not attach to us even though we got her right after birth. We sought help early on and did everything possible and she has done exceptionally well. She has oppositional disorder which you will find in kids who were bonded then taken away from their bio parents. Some kids know from birth. They don’t necessarily bond. With their adoptive parents. There has been much study about chemical bonding in utero. Even in the most loving environment a child can feel abandoned. So many of the people whose stories we hear had no chance from day one. My daughter has stayed on the straight and narrow but she prefers to be on her own She doesn’t date and her relationships are surface level only. Her dad and I are more emotional but she just doesn’t go there. We raised her with the utmost patience and loving understanding. I guess my point is that damage can be done to our fragile human existence before we ever have a chance. Society tends try to find the reason we go astray when usually it comes back to early abandonment every time. Much study needs to be done to counteract this core damage. My heart breaks for all of these folks.

Interesting. I am.adopted and my parents dud everything literally everything they could for me. I always felt loved and wanted. I too was adopted from birth. I did have a drug problem that led me to dark places but I am recovered and clean 5 and 1/2 years . I never knew why I felt the way I felt, I was always very uncomfortable in my own skin. When asked why I turned to drugs I didn't ever have an answer. I still don't. I recently lost my Mom who although we had our ups and downs I was so very close with and relied upon so much. Life hasn't been the same without her it just isn't.

The counteracting would to be shooting the birth parents from the get go so they don’t feel as if relinquishment is their only option! The fact that you even tried to force an attachment to your adopted child is sick and disgusting and I see why the practice was banned because it’s harmful to us the adoptees!!! Y’all need to stop thinking that the younger you buy us from our bios that we will attach or suffer less trauma! A baby and it’s birth giver are one human for months after birth! It isn’t until a child starts to learn it is it’s own human that it starts to detach ever so little from the mom. How are we so okay severing the ties of a birth parent and their child to fulfill your own selfish needs and wants of becoming a parent!! NOBODY is entitled to someone else’s child! Adoption IS traumatic for us adoptees!

These are things that need to be talked about and understood in adoptive families. It’s such a beautiful feeling to be getting a child when you’ve wanted one for so long. Everyone thinks that the love is going to solve all possible problems. I am deeply devoted to my daughter and I would do anything for her. I feel good about the fact that I have always accepted her for who she is and been grateful for the love that she does have to give. Everything she's saying right now about Provo Canyon school is absolutely accurate. This just goes to show that we all have issues growing up and if it isn't addressed properly we grow up with a defense on certain situations in our lives. I was molested as a very young child and at 58 yrs old today I still have issues trusting people b/c they want something from me. I absolutely don't understand the history about the murder. He lied about having water. So she took the car as revenge. He's angry. She's trying to get it back. There's other people involved. If she got that angry because he didn't have water, why not take the car and drive to wherever you want to go? She was free to leave, wasn't she? That story made no sense. I also thought first degree murder was the murder which gives the real hard sentences. Like 20 or 50 years to life. I thought even manslaughter could give more than six years. I'm very confused.

Omg. I can relate so much to her experience with these "treatment facilities". I was an adult when I was sent to one. I can't even say the name without risking a lawsuit... But it begins with a mandatory 3 day hold. They convince you to give it another 2 days, then a week, then a month, and eventually when you say "I won't stay here", you're threatened with legal action and warned of places that are "way worse". I spent 3 months in one of these places after an episode with untreated depression/life circumstances collapsing suddenly. I needed help, yes, but what they gave me was torture. For starters, men and women were housed together. Not in the same rooms, but see ward. Adults and children were separated on paper, but we had about 50/50 children to adults in our ward. Kids were sent to the adult wards if they didn't "behave" with the other kids. We say a therapist once a day, who gave us 3 different medicines for alcoholism regardless of whether or not we even drank alcohol. The kids had to take this too. It made some of us crazy, and they were taken away and we didn't see them again. We wore standard issue men's sweats. They weren't washed. We had to do that in our showers, which didn't even have curtains for privacy. We were given Ivory soap for all hygiene and rubber finger bristle things for tooth brushes. Group therapy was twice a day. It was basically an AA meeting even if you've never drank before. The worst was seeing an 11 year old rape/incest victim have to introduce herself and admit her "wrongs" in order to get checked off for the day. They gave us all twice daily Vispiril/ Vistaril? I think it was called? To keep us calm whether we wanted it or not. Smoke breaks were once every 4 hours. Non smokers still had to stand outside right next to smokers. Kids as young as 11 were smoking with the adults. The staff checked us every hour every night to purposely keep us on edge and sleep deprived. The staff were, just as this woman said, very very young adults. Barely out of high school. The female staff would bust in on us during bathroom and shower times. The male staff would sexually assault the girls openly. One guy who was at least 30 would take his "favorite girls" away every single day for a small amount of time. Said it was for "administrative reasons". They always came back with a quarter pack of smokes or got " supervised cell phone time" afterward. In case you haven't picked up on it, these girls were sucking dick for extra privileges from the staff. Jesus Christ for the love of everything, don't EVER send your loved ones to these piece of shit facilities. Research them in depth, and pay special attention to whether or not people are "allowed" to legally discuss their experiences. Don't sign ANYTHING without a trusted representative present.

She said “garage outside of town”, man. I can make all of these connect as multiple factors which pointed to her killing him. I’m sure that she was in a very terrifying and confusing situation. Dangerous as hell and she’s a young, vulnerable woman. Older guy giving her drugs - pumping her with them, and then “taking her out to this garage where there was no water”. All of theses things connect. The thing is, this is such a serious act she did commit, and so it’s understandable that she would try to understand the reasoning for all of it in her head. Just like everything in her life. I try to understand and justify some of my own actions, but I hold myself accountable. She’s doing the same. She’s raw and honest. This guy who was a “registered sex offender, PEDOPHILE, and known for giving young girls drugs”, taking this young, vulnerable and desperate girl to a REMOTE garage… I believe it was self-defense. I think she needed help and love. Not that crazy, traumatic shit hole. Some deserve that, of course… like er… pedos. That’s because her adoptive mom did a shitty job being a mother, she isn’t remorseful for killing this man, if you knew him you would understand why, if you could speak to her in person you’d have a different outlook on things, she takes full responsibility for the things she should, and is the most honest person you could ever meet, that tattoo is a reminder of what happened, the knife is surrounded by a chain link fence, signifying that she did the time for the crime, if you’d have known the situation first hand you would probably been upset to see her have to do any time at all

I’m not going to discount someone’s experience, but from the start ( her “adoptive” mom “massaging “ her head and her neck being kinked) flat head syndrome is caused by a baby laying on one spot .. it self corrects when the baby starts moving it’s head. No one can massage the bones in the skull to correct position. It’s fairly common , it’s not some alarming sign of abuse. Provo canyon doesn’t “ keep kids till they are 18” it’s an addiction treatment facility. It’s like a couple of weeks. It’s addiction treatment for youth. Like I said I don’t want to discount someone’s experience but if she is gonna lie about some stuff , why not lie about it all?

There were clues from this speaker, who was not grateful (keep blaming her social systems) and self pity maybe. Evidence: - she blamed and spoke down to the person who adopted her and massaged her head to become round again from a previous child abuse. -she spent lengthy amount of time to describe how dangerous teen life she was in. She chose to leave in the first place. - she blamed the school staff not being professional. She could have taken the opportunity as inspiration to become professional to help others and herself. She didn’t. - She claimed that she wanted to live in an isolated place. She has a son. Is she taking care of her son well? Obviously not. - The only thing she felt proud was to graduate high school top of the class. She made sure she mentioned that. - What’s wrong with a non-black lady wanting to marry a black man? - She is now 33. She kept talking about her life back then and how ugly the society was. Maybe stopping blaming the veins, the shaded hair, and people?? Maybe starting to look forward?? She planed what to say in front of her audience. She wants people to fund her.

I was adopted too and I totally can relate. My biological mother abandoned me at the hospital, and since no one claimed me there, I was taken to an orphanage and spent the first 5 years and 6 months there. This was in Saudi Arabia. I didn't speak Arabic, only Philippino(tagalog) because the staff who took care of me and the bunch of other unwanted children were from Philippines. I'm with the same adoptive parents but my adoptive dad didn't want to much to do with me except support me financially which he did and that was great...but that wasn't what I needed. I needed guidance, a manual, discipline, and didn't get that. I struggled in school therr because I was the only one who didn't speak Arabic fluently so talk about panic attacks EVERY SINGLE DAY! I asked my parents to take me out of there but they did not, which caused further trauma from school...anyway I'm 36 years old now, and I isolate myself a lot when I'm down. Its been a hard life thus far even thought my parent are well to do. So please remember, MONEY DOESNT CHANGE OR MAKE YOUR LIFE ANY BETTER WHEN YOU ...just because you have rich parents, doesn't mean a damn thing,...Its so important to have parents to raise you right. I have a wonderful mother but she only spoke English since she is American nut I went to Arabic school so that didn't help with anxiety and panic
