@Elizabeth Halasz she said she had her 1st child at 17. She didn't know any better. She might have gotten pregnant by accident and then thought the baby might give her a reason to stay straight. We really can't judge people for having kids. I know we want them to say "I know I'm messed up, so I don't want to bring another life into the world that I can't care for." And yes, there are some people who are able to say that. But most people don't or can't. Sooooo many people start their lives just like everyone else- school, relationship, marriage, children, that's what we're supposed to do, right? But they don't realize that in 2,5,10 years life isn't going to be what they expected and that's when problems arise. But by then, it's too late, the children are already here, you know? We just need to have more understanding for people. We might not know why they do what they do. But we don't really need to know why to care about them. We just need to care for the person, because they are a person. Each and every one of us - we all have a story. 💜

No. She knows that it was abuse. After she talked about paying her dad’s drug debts, she said “so, *that* was my abuse.” What she meant before that sentence was that her parents didn’t physically or directly harm her, but they allowed her to be harmed by others.

I came upon this video by accident at 3am and wasn't really listening then i heard her say Jim Thorpe PA which is where I grew up I left 25 years ago it shocked me so I called my brother who still lives there he knew her immediately he.knows her brother who has her children he told him about the video and this was the first time in awhile that he found about anything about her he didn't know if she was alive or dead ...........I don't know if it led to anything.............this is beyond heart breaking i hope something good happens in her life I don't pray but I'm praying for you Charmaine

Something that strikes me as painfully disgusting that is common in these stories is that parental abuse is so overlooked. Imagine if people could be charged for failing their duties as a parent long AFTER the fact. Like, if your child grows up and becomes a criminal, why are we not charging parents for abuse that led to adults being set up for failure in life. Abusove parents get a pass if they never get caught when the child is actually a child. That parent or parents gets to throw their victim out into the world and deny all accountability. And this is happpening all day every day. People are shit

Her taking responsibility for where she is today isnt anything but a testament to her self awareness and how she's obviously very bright. One of the biggest hurdles for many who have a major drug addiction is getting to the point where she already is. Hopefully she will be able to use it to her advantage.

I take breaks from this channel because sometimes it’s too difficult to hear but I always come back when I start to have bad thoughts. As a recovering addict seeing people in the sad place I was in when I was in my addiction helps me to remember why it’s not worth going back to. As a mom now it’s hard to see other moms unable to be with their kids, it’s my biggest fear. I hope she can get the help she needs & reconnect with her children. Having a baby saved my life and gave me what I needed to see the world as a place to LIVE in, but it also seems to have stripped me of the hardness I used to survive for so long. I am from Philadelphia and never go to the Kensington area because of stigmas or the danger in that area. There is violence, crime, drugs, and so much more all over Philadelphia but that neighborhood Kensington beach is known for the most chaos. Well all the interactions I had with her were pleasant all things considering. She is a very nice woman. I think she was there just a few months while I worked there. I do remember seeing her come in off the street and just feeling sorry for her. It’s really sad to see these people in person, and especially when you get to talk with them and see they they’re soft spoken and kind. The little bit I know about her past, and the information she revealed in this video is so sad and I hope one day she makes it out of addiction.

Getting out of Heroin was considered the most difficult thing till people started getting addicted to Fentanyl. I am not sure how can a person stop using Fentanyl but I really hope that she gets help and live to see her kids.

@@dg9601 Nope, not even close. Fentanyl is a synthetic drug which is considered 100times stronger than Heroin some 10 years ago. Current ones are much more stronger and newer version were actually used as a tranquilizer for big animals like Elephants. With current treatment plan for Fentanyl % of success is very less. Hopefully newer medicines will come that will help wit deaddiction.

I severely cut back and eventually quit drinking alcohol over the last 4 years of my life. In that time, it's made more sense to me why I was drinking the way I was. A year ago I finally snapped from the PTSD I had been ignoring. Over the last year in therapy I've come to realize my mom abused through out my life, I've majorly internalized the idea that I'm not enough because of my abuse, my dad taught me to love and excuse my abuser (mom) and this led to me staying in A LOT of terrible relationships, and I've been raped so many times I can't even count it. On top of all this sucking ass, my mom's abuse has led to me being suicidal for most of my life. I've been using suicide ideation my entire life as a way of coping with my feelings. Another thing I realized in therapy is that my brother killed himself via overdose 7 years ago. l know it was a suicide and not accidental. I know my mom's abuse played a role in that. I hurt so badly when I consider that for my brother, but I have a hard time having empathy for myself about it. It's getting better though. I say all this to emphasize why I kept drinking for so long. I had a lot of things I understandably wanted to escape. I was so fearful of facing any of this (still kinda am). But now that I quit drinking and I am facing things, it's way fucking easier then I thought it would be. Obviously, it still sucks, but no matter the option I choose it sucks. Either I wallow in my shit and use drugs to cover it up forever or I face my shit and allow myself to feel everything so I can finally freaking process it out if my body. There was a time in my life I couldn't even fathom not using drugs or feeling this hole inside. Now that I'm kinda living the opposite (hole isn't completely gone YET) I can't fathom ever going back. I truly hope that one day you will feel safe and have have the courage to quit drugs. You deserve so much more in this life. I'll be sending you healing vibes my friend. I wish you nothing but the best.

This is the kind of story I always bring up when people talk about bad choices causing addiction. I’ve known a lot of girls who were given drugs and abused or turned out (which is abuse) by their parents or an adult. They didn’t have a chance. Charmain, you did not, “make your own choices.” You were not given a choice. You deserve to be helped to have a better life! P.S. I’ve seen this a lot because I was on the streets and worked in shelters. I’ve seen even more parents who “shared” drugs with their kids. We all know a parent who bought alcohol, weed, or cigarettes for their kids. Please believe her!

Yeah but at 33 how would u help her as this has been her way since birth? I mean most prostitutes have only seen the bad side of men so they really don't like them. Also few men worth owning would condesend to have a pro for a wife,only those that were considering her as product not a wife.So her trail is likely set in stone with no way out which doesn't preclude one from trying.You also have the problem of separating her from a lifelong addiction or at least turning down the volume to a low background level that doesn't affect her to a noticable degree,which can be done. Lastly and the hardest part of all is finding out if this is what she really wants and is willing to put out the good fight for. I've been watching SWU for a while now, hear the stories of drug addicts, prostitutes, cam girls, etc...I'm a book author, I write erotic romance novels...after hearing so many sad stories, they inspired me to write my current book, which is about a guy who falls madly in love with a stripper, who is part of an illegal sex trafficking ring, freeing her from that life for good. This channel is amazing, and I feel so bad for the survivors of any kind of abuse. I’ve watched so many of these and for some reason this one hit me the hardest. She seems so sad. She wants different, but she can’t. I used to not understand addiction, to me it was more of a “well if they wanted to stop they would” and although there is some truth to this, as in no one can help the addict unless they want to help themselves, it’s so much more complex than that. These people are set up to fail from beginning. The cycle is almost impossible to break. How can we as a society help or do different? Chasing drug dealers and putting people in jail is clearly not the answer, so where or how do we even start? How do we protect children from the very beginning?

Sending prayers to you Charmain. I’m coming up on a year clean from opiates and It took me going through over a decade of use and all the consequences that come with it. Sublocade saved my life after going through a horrible detox from fentanyl. No one chooses this life but recovery and sobriety is a choice. It’s the hardest thing I ever did in my life but has been the most rewarding. I never thought I would get clean but it is possible.

She looks like a very strung out version of Brittany Murphy. Such a shame her parents destroyed her life from the beginning. It makes perfect sense in the worst way. Being invisible to others in a way she exists in physical form but is anonymous and unreachable. She's there but not seen, just a part of the background. Not an active agent in life. At least that's how she thinks of herself. It's ridiculously sad.

I have a lot of respect for you mark. The amount of time and resources you put into showing these people much needed love and attention is amazing. I'm in recovery myself I just got 15 months clean.
